Studying ecology

Studying ecology will teach you about living things like plants, animals and other organisms. It’s a hands-on degree that will see you learning in the field as well as the lecture hall. You’ll likely cover topics including environmental management, biodiversity, plant physiology and animal behaviour, as you increase your knowledge and understanding of the natural world. During the course, you’ll be able to develop industry-relevant skills that will help you in your career, including ecological research, data analysis, ecological classification and surveying. There’s never been a bigger need to protect our planet and the living things within it, so the world needs people who are knowledgeable about ecology. Career paths are varied and include ecological consultancy, environmental education, research and teaching.
