My campus is a short walk from Liverpool city centre. Makes my breaks during classes worth it. There’s also a free shuttle bus for all Hope students to use to get between Hope Park and the Creative Campus.

Division into small campuses makes it a nice space, you are not stuck in one building the whole day but need to go outside if you need a workshop, food and etc. Unfortunately there is no a proper university canteen, small amount of choices and high prices , would be great to have a bigger university canteen where you can buy a proper lunch, instead of subway sandwich.

I love the university, my course is great and covers a variety of topics. The facilities on campus are amazing and I can book out the dance studios for free. The Roehampton students union is ok but the communication could be better between societies and also in general. I would love the RSu to host more events or at least support and promote other events at the union bar students can attend.

The best part of university experience is that I have support whenever I seek for help, my supervisors are the best. The worse experience is when I have to balance work, study and family time.. it adds pressure on me. But I am trying to balance it

Beautiful location with a lovely pound with ducks. Lots of places to eat and drink as well as a coop to get whatever you need. The LIBRARY is very big with loads of spaces and quiet zones. Improvement - giving more personal time and feedback 1-1s with students as well as tutors being active in replying etc

So far everything is fine. The lecturers are really helpful and won't make you feel insecure about your knowledge. There is just some problems oh terms of timetable management, but for now everything seems great.

Chester, a charming city located in the northwest of England, offers a distinctive and enriching experience for students, making it an ideal destination for higher education. The city combines the best of both worlds: a rich history and modern educational opportunities, creating an environment that fosters academic achievement and personal growth. From its prestigious University of Chester to its vibrant cultural and historical landscape, Chester presents a unique setting for students to study, live, and thrive. At the heart of Chester’s appeal as a place of study is the University of Chester, one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1839, the university has evolved into a leading educational institution, providing a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs across various disciplines. The university’s focus on academic excellence is evident in its strong reputation for delivering high-quality education, with many programs designed to equip students with the practical skills needed for success in their chosen fields. The university boasts modern facilities, including state-of-the-art lecture halls, research labs, and libraries, which create an ideal environment for learning and intellectual development. In addition to this, its emphasis on employability ensures that students are well-prepared for the workforce. The university’s strong industry links provide students with opportunities for internships, work placements, and collaborative projects, which help them build practical experience alongside their academic studies. The smaller size of the University of Chester compared to larger institutions means that students often experience more personalized attention from academic staff. With smaller class sizes, students are able to engage more closely with their lecturers, benefiting from individualized feedback and guidance. This fosters a deeper academic relationship and enhances the overall learning experience. Moreover, the university has a strong commitment to supporting students, with services that include academic tutoring, career counseling, and mental health support. These services ensure that students feel well-supported throughout their academic journey and have access to the resources they need to succeed. The tight-knit community at the university also promotes a sense of belonging, which is a key factor in student satisfaction. The university’s student union plays a pivotal role in fostering this sense of community by offering a range of extracurricular activities, societies, and clubs. Whether students are interested in joining academic societies, engaging in sports, or participating in creative arts, there is something for everyone. These opportunities not only help students make new friends and form lasting connections but also allow them to develop skills outside the classroom. In addition to the University of Chester, the city is home to several other academic institutions, further enhancing its status as a center for learning. The city’s educational landscape is diverse, with specialized institutions focusing on areas such as business, healthcare, and the arts. This diversity means that students have access to a broad range of academic programs, ensuring that they can find a course that aligns with their interests and career aspirations. Furthermore, the city’s compact nature makes it easy for students to navigate their academic and social lives, with university buildings, student accommodations, and various amenities located within walking distance of one another. This ease of access contributes to Chester’s reputation as a student-friendly city, where students can focus on their studies while also enjoying the vibrant social life that the city has to offer. Beyond academics, Chester offers a rich cultural experience that enhances the student lifestyle.

As a first year online student, the overall impression so far has not been good. Previously, I studied at the Open University and when comparing the two, I wish I had continued my study there. While distance learning is beneficial for myself and current circumstances, I had high hopes that teaching and learning would remain at a high level, especially while studying at a Masters level. Sadly, this has not been the case. My first module was filled with contradicting information regarding how assessments would be carried out, deadlines, and word counts with guidance often saying one thing and tutors saying another. The second module which I am currently studying is based on data. I have limited knowledge on this subject and would have hoped for more in-depth teaching rather than one or two 10 minute micro-lectures each week, which mostly sum up a chapter from a book that we are required to read. Alongside this, guidance stated that answer keys would be released for quizzes undertaken as part of the assessment. This has not been the case, therefore, students have had zero feedback or opportunity to reflect on their learning. There is no opportunity for online student to feel like they 'belong' to the university with all Student Union clubs/events taking place on campus. The only interactions I've had with other students studying online has been via discussion forums and a group WhatsApp set up by the students. In future, it would be beneficial if module guidance could be reviewed more often, therefore limiting the contradicting information that confuses students. It would also be extremely helpful to have 'live' lectures where students can actively participate and ask questions, rather than pre-recorded micro-lectures that last for 10 minutes. Alongside this, online opportunities could be provided to distance learning students such as online book clubs, monthly bingo games, online chat rooms, fun quiz nights, wellbeing check-in groups, etc.

My university experience had its highs and lows. The best part was the supportive academic environment, with passionate lecturers and plenty of resources like well-equipped libraries and study spaces. The vibrant campus life, with diverse clubs and events, made it a great place to meet people and grow personally. However, there were some downsides, like the high cost of living and occasional administrative delays, which could be frustrating. Improving affordability and streamlining student support services would make the experience even better overall.
