3. Whatuni Go User Terms

3.1 Whatuni Go is a service that, during the university clearing and adjustment season, allows a student to match their grades and choice of course (using other relevant filters) to the relevant courses with places then available at participating universities.

3.2 Whatuni Go does not make offers on behalf of the universities.

3.3 An "offer in principle" is confirmation from Whatuni Go that the student has been matched by Whatuni Go to an available place on a relevant course.

3.4 If the student accepts the "offer in principle", the application from the student will promptly be sent by Whatuni Go to the university, along with all of the information that the student has provided to Whatuni Go.

3.5 The university will contact the student directly to confirm whether a formal offer is made by it to the student, or to confirm that no offer will be made.

3.6 The university will normally attempt to contact the student within [one hour] of the application being submitted by Whatuni Go where the application is accepted during [9am - 5pm] on Monday to Friday and otherwise normally on the next working day.

3.7 If the student has not heard from the university by the end of that working day (if the application was made during [9am - 5pm] on Monday to Friday) or otherwise by the end of the next working day, the student must contact the university directly to follow up on the application.

3.8 The reasons for which an offer will not be made by the university are at the university’s discretion, but may include situations where:

(a) any information that the student has provided was inaccurate;

(b) the student does not meet the appropriate qualification standards;

(c) the student has international fee status;

(d) the student has previously been excluded;

(e) the student cannot be contacted by the university; or

(f) the student is ineligible for funding.

3.9 No formal offer is made other than by the university confirming expressly to the student that such an offer is given. The student cannot - and must not - rely on the "offer in principle" from Whatuni Go to any extent whatsoever.

3.10 It is the student's responsibility to make sure that all information included in the application, or otherwise provided as part of the Whatuni Go service, is true and accurate. The student must have achieved the grades that are given in the application.

3.11 During the clearing and adjustment season, the availability of course places changes very rapidly and the Whatuni Go service is kept up to date by [very frequently]. An "offer in principle" is not held for the student until the student has clicked "accept this offer" and started the process of making the application. The student will then have a maximum of 90 minutes to complete the application process before the “offer in principle” will be released. Other than during this period in which the course is held, the regular updating of availability may mean that that course is no longer available.

3.12 Once a student has accepted an "offer in principle", any cancellation of that "offer in principle" must be made directly to the university.

3.13 Once an "offer in principle" has been accepted, no further application can be made by that student via the Whatuni Go service for that clearing and adjustment season. This is the case even if the student withdraws from the application, if the university does not make an offer, or if the student rejects an offer made by the university.

3.14 As it is providing only a matching service, Whatuni Go does not accept any responsibility or liability to the student if an offer is not made to the student for any reason at all. Whatuni Go's responsibility to the student is only to deliver the student's application to the relevant university.

3.15 All information provided to Whatuni Go by the student, including personal data, will be passed to the university. The basis on which Whatuni Go collects and processes that personal information is set out in Whatuni Go's Privacy Notice.
