WIFI is absolutely awful and there are many dead zones around campus. How can a top-level engineering university provide such poor internet connection, especially when all of our assignments are internet based and due online? I am constantly searching for places around campus with any useable connection and the VPN speeds when you're off campus are just unusable. It's the year 2024. How have we not figured this out yet? It's absolutely unaccusable. You have the money to build an entire new campus, but can't fix the internet at your main campus? Awful.

The best parts of my university experience have been the modern facilities, supportive staff, and great location. The campus looks welcoming, and the student union offers plenty of societies and events, which makes it easy to get involved. However, it could be improved by offering more affordable food options on campus and extending library opening hours during exam periods.

best part would be the sense of community, from easily making friendships to the lecturers being welcoming and happy to help. worst aspects are few, but i would say the prices of the shop, cafe and bar on campus are quite high, especially for students. it makes me less likely to buy from them.

Couldn’t be happier to have picked SRUC for veterinary nursing! It’s very practical based and really hands on which I love a lot. The lecturers are lovely and in our online (for now) lectures they make sure to try and keep us engaged and give us breaks as they know online learning can be a bit difficult and most of all they try to make it fun! If you’re looking to do veterinary nursing in Scotland I’d definitely recommend SRUC - you might be a bit hesitant at first since it’s out in the countryside and not a city but it’s definitely worth it for the practical learning than you receive on farm etc.

The best part of this university is its rural location, surrounded by wildlife, which creates a calm and inspiring environment to study in. The staff go above and beyond on my course to offer continuous support throughout the modules, and the facilities on campus are unmatched. The veterinary department has a separate building dedicated to practical work, equipped with most, if not all, of the equipment used in real veterinary practices. This provides excellent preparation, support, and guidance, ensuring that when I qualify as a Registered Veterinary Nurse and entre the workplace, there are no surprises- everything I need to know will be thoroughly taught and demonstrated. The university also offers free access to on-campus rugby matches, creating a great atmosphere and giving students the opportunity to engage more with sports and campus life. Personally, I have not found anything that needs improvement. I have lived on campus for six months now, and transport is given to students, for a reasonable price, travelling to and from Gloucester for those without cars. for those who do drive, there is plenty of parking available. I fell in love with this university the very first day I came to view it, and being on my dream course means I truly couldn't be happier.

A great uni, not snobby, welcoming to exchange students though you will have to work to make friends in class. Outside of class, it’s easy. The classrooms themselves are uninspiring, but the overall buildings, especially seen from the outside, are extraordinary!

Beautiful campus, lots of hands on experience, lecturers that are happy to answer questions and provide additional support The social nights can feel quite rowdy if you arent involved, but the SU does offer quieter evening events as well Access to all shopping essentials on campus, with three cafes that all serve great coffee. For larger shops, the best way to get to town is the shuttlebus, which is becoming more frequent over time, and is only £2 per day

It is a clean campus with lovely views and great tutors that are genuinely helpful and understanding. There are lots of clubs that you can join according to your interests and posters with information on to get help and support, which I think it very good to have visible. The selection of courses are fantastic and you can find out about them with ease from the website or staff as they are all friendly and very nice to speak with about concerns or questions. The smoking areas are a mess and over crowded with younger students that can quite literally get away with pretty much anything, they get a verbal warning and that's it. From verbal abuse to things being thrown at you to being shoved hard, they get away with it to outright bulling I have seen in front of me within these areas is alarming. Getting on the bus at the end of the day feels like a appointment with a near death experience as the naughty kids fights to get to the back of the bus, again pushing, shoving and elbowing is common practice, and for some reason none of them can just keep a seat belt on. But, when it comes to safe guarding it is sadly extremely lacking I have (and others) have had issues with other students sending inappropriate images or messages, even with proof and an email from the police they are still in attendance. I never got any follow up or help with this. I find this disappointing and disheartening as it does make me feel less safe on campus as though any issues will not be dealt with in a firm professional manner.
