GET PROSPECTUSUniversity College Birmingham accepts and welcomes applicants of all backgrounds, with a wide range of entry qualifications accepted. Entry requirements vary between courses, and students should check the eligibility criteria for their preferred study programme before application.
For BA top-up courses, a HND or foundation degree in a relevant subject is required.
UCAS Tariff Point Score
Offers for places on undergraduate degrees are generally made based on a student’s UCAS Tariff point score. Qualifications in the UCAS Tariff accepted by University College Birmingham include:
For most courses at U, a minimum of 80-96 UCAS points are required.
The university also accepts a range of international qualifications and other qualifications which may not be included in the UCAS Tariff, including NVQ. Students without formal qualifications but with a minimum of three years relevant work experience are also encouraged to apply.
Students who don’t meet the entry requirements may opt to enrol on one of the university’s many foundation degrees (FdA or FdSc). Entry requirements for these are typically in the range of 32-56 UCAS points.

International students must also demonstrate English language proficiency, with the typical requirement being a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.0 (no lower than 5.5 in any band).

The Maltings are conveniently located just a 15-minute walk from campus, offering 827 purpose-built rooms, most of which are en-suite. Halls are split into flats of between six and nine bedrooms.
