What students say about criminal-psychology

I was fairly new to the country so I was still adjusting to the learning and teaching styles of students here. I was really nervous when I started uni but the lecturers and adminstrators were so very supportive and there were a number of resources I could use and people I could meet with to discuss my concerns. I was very surprised to see how students can be involved in the decision making processes within the school as a School/Course Rep and I can definitely say our voices have been heard. Despite being a very practical course, I was able to strike a stable work life balance while being involved in many activities within the university such as starting a society, being a Course and Class Rep and ambassador. I loved how I was welcomed and the general 'vibe' of uni Worst would probably be the lack of advertising and events for the School of Healthcare students. I didn't see much going and didn't realize how much we were actually missing out on till I was in my final year. Students union can be a little better in catering towards and focusing a little more on healthcare students rather than being mostly on main campus

Library is very nice and modern, good facilties. Careers and Employability were very useful and helped me improve my CV. Staff are very helpful and welcoming. Uni is very clean and gardens always look very nice. I love the private study offices and the kitchen areas. Not many downsides only really it can be very busy somedays. More facilities for food like microwaves and kettles.

What students say about criminal-psychology

The support the uni gives to students academically and outside is really good they are always happy to help and also with chi being a smaller uni it’s more personal so lecturers get to know you more as a person than a number. The only negative I would say don’t go to chi is if all you want is night life and there are no clubs but other than that chi is great

it is a very green campus with lovely up to date libraries and accommodation. it is close to town and the train station makes it easy to go southampton for a night out. unfortunately not a great nightlife, SU is good but queue for hours to get in, and no clubs in the town.

What students say about criminal-psychology

Studying at the University of Gloucestershire was the best choice I made to improve my career. Being an international student, I anticipated a great number of changes as a new entrant into the UK, but the truth is that my school has made it so easy for me to settle in and adapt to everything. From my first day in school at the Oxstalls campus, I met friendly faces and super helpful staff and had no difficulties navigating the campus. Systems and processes are seamless, the technology is pretty impressive, and the business school is just so beautiful and modern. There are groups and clubs for literally everything you can think of, and the student union did go the extra mile to make us feel welcome with a lot of programs and presents. Our lecturers are great as well, and the classes are more like intellectual exchange than 'just teaching'. This makes it easy to assimilate knowledge and look forward to learning which is one challenge I especially thought I'd go through, having been out of school for over 10 years. It's as if I never left, everything just blends in beautifully. The one thing I'd suggest an improvement on is communication between certain offices and the students. For instance in the event of cancellation of a scheduled program it would be helpful if the students were informed beforehand as some do come from quite a distance. Other than this minor ish which isn't really a big deal by the way, the University of Gloucestershire is the educational stuff of dreams and I'll really encourage folks especially international students to go for it. I do not regret coming here. It's been the most amazing experience so far.

What students say about criminal-psychology

I’m a mature student doing the BMus Music part-time at Goldsmiths. I’ve just come to the end of the full-time first year (which has taken me two years). Headline is I’d really recommend this course – it was definitely a good decision to apply. Over the first year I’ve done 5 year-long modules and coming to the end I reckon they have given me a really solid foundation as a musician in terms of my ability to play, write, analyse and think about music.

What students say about criminal-psychology

I had the pleasure of studying at the university for 4 years learning from lecturers that were second to none in their knowledge of procurement, logistics and supply chain management. Despite the onset of COVID I had the much needed support during this time to continue my studies and even during my transition back into university. While partaking in the course I was also given the opportunity to take a work placement which allowed me to gain much needed experience and massively helped me to achieve a jumpstart in my career, whereby I am now currently employed full time in a role that enables me to manage a wide variety of Professional services and ICT products.

What students say about criminal-psychology

LSBU has a really nice new building perfect for a late night study session, with rooms that you can book for group projects or just group studying I thoroughly enjoy the new hub building. The student union doesnt really have alot of events that everyone can go to, they target more societies than the rest of the cohort meaning that the only events that are really going on are ethnic based eg . Bangladeshi night ( which is great for those of that community ) but it makes it hard for students that may not identify with that community to be social. We have a student sports program that is not connected so much with the student union, which has put a dent in the outreach of student union events. Now that student sport (I am sport club captain ) has left our student union, we find that our socials that were accessible to all and not targeted towards a society / community are less advertised and less supported . I think if the student union connects back with student sports the university could thrive to more events with more attendees and have a bigger outreach.

What students say about criminal-psychology

As a student at the University of Sunderland, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The university offers a diverse range of well-structured academic programs, providing me with valuable knowledge and skills for my chosen field. The faculty members demonstrate a genuine commitment to student success, fostering a supportive learning environment (an example being the feed forward targets on every assignment to help me improve on the next). The campus facilities are modern and well-maintained, offering state-of-the-art resources for both academic and extracurricular activities. I appreciate the university's dedication to diversity and inclusion, creating an inclusive atmosphere that celebrates students from various backgrounds (as an international student, i have benefited a lot in other to deal with culture shock). The availability of support services, including excellent academic advising and career counseling, has been instrumental in my personal and academic development (i have also enjoyed the one - on - one study skills appointment with library officials). Furthermore, the university's intervention through the English for Academic Purpose modules have shaped and made my learning process easier as an international student. Overall, the University of Sunderland has exceeded my expectations, providing a comprehensive and enriching educational experience.
