The annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) highlight the incredible work carried out by institutions for their students. Due to Covid restrictions, this year’s awards were not collected on uni campuses as usual, but instead based on submissions from institutions, which were then judged by our special student panel.

The University of Roehampton has been an incredible experience for me, I don’t think I could have chosen better! I LOVE the course I’m on and think that (especially during COVID) our lecturers really care about us learning and achieving our best. I have never been taught by people who want us to do as well as our course leaders do.
Avoid this uni if your IQ is higher than 80. They take everyone just to fill the places and to get as much money as they can. The student is treated as a number not an individual. Some students in my group are from the UK and cannot write properly and without mistakes. Because they take everyone, the uni has to adjust their modules and assignments as well, so they make they very easy to pass, so they don't lose any students. If you really want to study and gain knowledge this is not the right uni for you. But if you just want to get a diploma and gain a huge debt with student finance then it's the perfect choice :) Overall the studying quality is poor, and to charge £9250 for such quality is just greed. I would pay around £2000 per year, but not more.
I would give it -5 if it was available. No support, and when you submit a complaint, no one bothers to deal with your complain
I am overall very pleased with my experience. I feel like things have been handled well despite the situation with covid and teaching being online. The staff and professors are responsive and helpful
I have not been to the campus so don’t know
It has been challenging to maintain motivation over zoom, particularly as I haven't been able to meet a single person from my course, the university in general, or my lecturers, but the quality of teaching has been high and the course is interesting
Excellent course but a lot of it would have benefited from in-class learning. Lecturers would frequently describe the amazing activities we would have done that aren't possible over zoom
The overall experience at the university this year was quite good to be honest, but there could have been some improvement during the COVID-19 scenario. I mean, international students were the ones who faced the most hardships of all. Students paid big amount of cash but were restricted here only to Remote learning (which I believe is good) but not justified by the heavy amount of fees which we paid. Apart from this, I loved the welcoming environment and the positive attitude of both the faculties and the fellow students. I have been guided alot by them and helped in academics. The teaching lectures were well prepared, the moodle site was very organized and easy to use. Overall it was a very good experience. Thanks.
Roehampton University gives great focus on the carrer making of its graduates. Right from the 1st year, I have been introduced to a CV making program where my abilities are analysed and brought into my knowledge. These programs also helps me in knowing about the areas where I need more focus. There are series of test, through which one passes and then he is guided about his personality traits, which I believe is a very good step. Moreover, we are also invited to several carrer support events where guest speakers are invited (Online) and we are enlightened by their experiences
Well we are taught through Remote education due to the Covid-19 restrictions but overall it's a very good experience. The faculty has been very supportive and responsive during the studies and are always there to help someone in need. The hours depend on the course and the tutors. Some courses were taught during morning time 10:30 am till 1 pm and some from 3 pm to 5pm. I had some issues with the attendance and academics when I first came to UK, but thanks to the faculty, they always approached me in a polite manner and sorted out the issues for me in the best possible way. I also had some issue using the academic website (Moodle) but once again thanks to the faculty and the welcoming students who were always there to help. Overall it's one of the best decision of my life and I am honored studying here.
Since I have only studied through Remote learning, as of now I can't tell of the facilities being provided at the campus but the way the online classes are being carried out, it's worth mentioning. Not to forget about the commuting facilities and study facilities being provided by the university which includes educational equipments and devices which can be easily borrowed from the University.
This is something which has been looked after very well. All the lectures that we go through are made accessible for people with any kind of disabilities and are made keeping in mind the difficulties of such students. I often receive mails from the University asking for my wellbeing and make arrangements for any such cases. It's a very good approach, which I surely appreciate.
The experience hasn’t been exactly what I thought I would be, I’ve struggled a lot but with the uni/ facilities they have been great and I couldn’t see it going any other way especially as we were in a pandemic this year. I do have this constant thought in my mind about the financial part as everything was online this year I didn’t feel like I was getting the most out of the money, it can be quite lonely sometimes when you’re not allowed to meet up with people so there were lots of highs and lows for this year.
I’m only in first year but they have talked about internships and opportunities a lot, so it’s really great. Especially as I’m only starting out I wonder what it will be like in the third year.
I give it a 4 stars, the teachers are amazing and really put in the effort, however I’m someone who really struggles learning online, I get very distracted so find it rather difficult.
I haven’t been to many places due to Covid but the library is incredible has a great access to computers and books.
I’ve reached out to well-being a few times and the support has been exceptional. I get a lot of help in classes too. Although I have sent emails multiple times about other issues in our flat and they haven’t been as helpful which is why I’m giving it a 3 star.
I’m enjoying right now getting to know my lifestyle outside university and other fun activities too sports is something I’ve always had a passion for so I’m very grateful to be at university right now
So, basically my university is overall amazing. But because of online studies students are struggling. Because I have a technical course it requires face to face iteration with the lecturers. Most of us are new to computing so it isbreally hard to study online. But our teachers are helping us as much as they can. Hope this pandemic gets over soon and life is back to normal.
I have been very happy with my overall experience. Especially considering that everything has been online. The University and lecturers have been amazing when it comes to providing information and answering to emails.
I don’t know as everything has been online
Not at all what I expected. The quality of the majority of lecturers as well as fellow students is very low. Please note that I am talkig about Holborn campus and not the main campus in Barnes.
Careers Department was not opened on Saturdays or in the evenings for weekend or evening students. Really badly organised.
Only 25-30% of the lecturers are top lecturers, the others do not belong in higher education, they are simply unprepared in their field and with no knowledge of pedagogy. Really bad. Appaling at times.
The course is run by QA HE, so students do not have access to any services/ activities in the main (Barnes) campus.
A lot of students crammed into small spaces. Library was good and library staff helpful.
The reason I chose Holborn campus was because it was closer to city centre, Barnes in far away from my job and my place.
Not much was organised for us. The uni tried to get us involved but most of us beig mature students had other things to do and did not prioritise this.
Below expectations. Only students who are very focussed succeed and largely through their own effort and struggle. I would say that I succeed in spite of the lack of support offered which is not up to sandard.
