It feels like as students we are getting a lot of support from the university and professors are available to discuss any issues privately. The facilities are easy to access, the library is open 24/7, 365 days a year and that's amazing! There are a lot of things going on all the time and so many societies that you will definitely find something that you like and it makes it easy to meet new people. On campus accommodation is expensive. Very specific but as an international student your card will not work to access sportspark unless you pay 10£ and I couldn't find any mention of this fee when I signed up for some club activities.

Alot of facilities and mice buildings for spaces but also gets very crowded on those spots which is fine and creates a nice environment. It's got alot of scenic places and has nice building that look good from the inside as well. Improvement could include maybe more sockets in the older buildings for devices since those can be hard to get in some lecture rooms in the older building. The uni is close to quite a good bit of food spots like cafes and Lidl as well as Greggs and a Tesco express so lunch isn't a problem most times.

There are excellent lecturers and student support services (particularly academic skills). The campus has a good feel and has a lot of outdoor seating which will be nice when the weather is warm. Lecture rooms are good but the seats are very uncomfortable. There is little impact from the students' union, for example there was no 'refreshers fayre' for January intake students, which also impacts the student life score.

Tutors are lovely but the only thing that could be improved is the support for the English and the rest of the students who are not from Scotland. It's took me 3 years to get help for my dyslexia and that is because I have to pay for it.

I love the city in general. The University's libraries are good. with proper facilities that I can use, such as discussion rooms, computers, printers, even 3D printer! Some buildings look so old but in positive ways, make them look classic and cultured. However, in my own experience, some classrooms are a little bit aged. i mean, like some chairs are feel old, they are sometimes kind of wobbly, and some of them do not have enough leg room. Main library can be crowded when exam days come, but I think that is something that can not be avoided. i think it is good to add some space for classrooms or some like study hubs.

The location of the uni is great - a very inviting environment all around. The main building and the SU are basically inside parks, which makes going about your day on campus quite pleasant. The lecturers and tutors tend to be very responsive and eager to help in any way they can. I haven't experienced any form of.. let's say, embarrassment when asking for help. The welcoming vibes from the faculty is just amazing. The SU is also really great! Just the amount of little events being hosted there is incredible! Almost every week you'd walk into the building, and there's a stall in the hall with people giving out free salad bowls. Stuff like that, I find, boosts the morale and the feeling of being welcomed and wanted as a student. As well as that, the countless clubs and societies are such a great ay of bringing people together. I am a part of the Traditional Crafts society, which is hosted at SU, and I've learnt skills with the society I never thought I would...like, leather binding ? Wow! I'm terms of improvement, nothing comes to mind. Perhaps, some sort of signage around campus could be great? With the amount of little tiny offices all around the Botanic, it can sometimes be really difficult to find the one you're looking for. Looking for street signs can sometimes be time consuminh and, frankly, annoying. So, like a classic arrows-on-a-pole kinda thing would be amazing!

Great buildings and location with great transport links to major cities. Being taught by people who are the best in that field and being able to contribute to their research at an early time in your studies. The tutorial system with very few people in classes making learning much more interactive.

There should be more support for international students, the lack of staff specialized on matter regarding visas and financial support for international students makes the whole university experience feel more overwhelming and stressful.

I am a mature distance learning student, completing my MA in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics. The online platform is easy to use and the digital library is expansive. All staff have been easy to contact when I need any support, including IT, Finance, Admin, my personal tutor and teaching staff. I have been assigned a mentor to help me stay connected with university life and the Philosophy department. The modules are contemporary, as are the course materials. The student cohort is diverse and we all connect to the course flexibly, from different time zones. I receive a weekly events newsletter which has plenty of options for attending online webinars and socials.
