What students say about business-information-technology

My worst experience has been with my transfer to CCCU from another uni. It took weeks to get my timetable and on blackboard therefore I had no access to class resources. As well as sorting out my finances with the accounts teams. However my best experience had been the Students who have helped me when I have been having technical issues.

What students say about business-information-technology

1. My university Edge Hill, is a fantastic place to study! The staff are so supportive and friendly to students, they are always ready to help and lecturers are patient and passionate for their subject. There is support everywhere from students from career advice, to academic writing, and also wellbeing support. The facilities available are all new and modern. From laboratories in science based subjects to the sports centre facilities are new. There is also a vibrant community at Edge Hill which instantly made me feel more at home, people are welcoming and there are many societies to get involved in. 2. My university could improve by having more affordable shops on campus. The Morrison in "The Hub" is too expensive and not always convenient because prices are too high for things. I'd also appreciate for every accomodation hall to have their own washing machine, so it is more affordable for students to wash their clothes. It is also inconvenient that the EdgeLink bus only runs Monday to Friday, so on weekends us students have to walk 30 minutes to get into the town. This is especially inconvenient during winter when it gets dark early and especially if you are a lady.

What students say about business-information-technology

What makes my uni a great place to study is their student support. They try to help their students in any way possible to ensure that students get the best out of their education. I think it would be better if the university put more effort into societies and clubs such as sporting clubs and teams . It would help the university to have more of a community and really showcase other talents other than what students already study on their courses. My university do have societies and some sporting teams, however some of the societies don’t run anymore and it’s not made to be as big as it was when I first heard about it before I joined uni. I think it’s important to have that feel of community and university culture and to also show the inclusiveness of different cultures, groups and activities in which people associate them selves with.

The best parts of uni experience is it has got very good facilities like the library, own careers office, lecture theatre, the court room and much more, the worst part is that the lecture classes can sometimes drag, but just make sure you had a good night sleep especially if it is the morning one and always stay focused

What students say about business-information-technology

Lots of students which gives the opportunity to make friends. Lots of activities to engage in every week which acts as a break away from work. Huge library with several resources to help me along the way. Also inspire funds with funds given every academic year which is good when U want to purchase something but may not want to take it out from your own money. Although there should be activities to do during the daytime like sports activities rather than just in the night when some students may want to head home after studies.

Best - so much engagement, I love how accessible sport is but there’s also so much going on! The student newsletters are useful and they update ongoing events on social media frequently. There’s lots of study spaces around campus as well!

The lecturers are good and helpful, but also keep them interesting, my cohort is very nice and friendly. Our timetable. 3 different lectures have been packed into the same day, meaning it is a very busy day and is inconvenient since I commute.

What students say about business-information-technology

I really enjoy the social aspects of uni life, getting to meet new people and try new things, and im also happy that im studying a course that has taken my interests from secondary school that allows me to think of a future pursuing this. I do think though that queens is very focused on the research aspect of being a research university rather than how students experience learning and, yes, there is support available, but i feel that support should be in place without students having to ask for it

Studying business information technology

Business information technology, or computing in business, is a subject area that focuses on developing students’ IT and computing skills, as well as their business acumen. Studying it at uni will give you a solid grounding in programming, information systems development and current technology, as well as in business-related areas like e-commerce, consultancy and management. It’s also likely that your course will give you the chance to do a year in industry, meaning you can get valuable hands-on experience alongside the theory you learn. There’s a demand for individuals who are proficient in both IT and business and the skills you’ll learn could set you up for a career in programming, IT management, software development, information analysis, and more.
