The overall experience of this course was very negative. In careerwise this course is not helpful. The university itself is a good vibrant environment, just this course would need complete revamp. The quality is a college level, and it needs to become a MA level.
The course promises good career opportunities but this is not reality
This was supposed to be a MA course but it seemed more like a college level course with tutors who have not got the higher education themselves. The programme was rigid, did not allow students to make the projects they wanted, did not nurture the creativity. If you want actually make documentaries and to find your own voice, this course is not the right place.
Facilities are good, but there are restrictions if you want to use the school equipment, as the programme is very rigid
The support was negative. The tutors had favorites who got special support, excellent grades and nominations to awards. Even though everyone else worked as hard - or even more, they did not get this support. There was unfortunately bullying, which was discussed but the programme leader did not react. If you had made appointment with the programme leader to discuss your experiences and to get advice, they did not come to the appointment or came two hours late. Certain tutors were discriminating towards non UK students and discouraging in choosing projects. There was no advice how to write certain assignments and many students failed.
Really good , I'm very much enjoying being in a city uni from my undergrad uni (Bangor), support networks are in place should we need them, facilities are good and the lecturer's passion is infectious.
CV workshops and stuff
Love the lecturer's passion and enthusiasm, dislike the PSS module which is total garbage unrelated to our degree.
It's alright, they seem to try and engage which is nice
My house is a building site, when the landlord said it would be ready by the time I moved in. I kept my food in a box on the floor for 2 months til the kitchen was built :)))
Not bad, the library is pretty decent!
I'm about 20 mins walk away so can't complain really
No idea as I have no interest in them.
Tutors seem like I could talk to them about work etc
SU is good, would like to know more of what they do, but I can find out
Could be more
It's good, would like to know more of what's around
Good campus and not enough food places
Plenty of support, constant emails regarding vacancies relating to my course
The toilets can be improved
Not many places where you can find good food
A great variety of sports/societies, and all advertised well
Happy to finally be studying a subject I am interested in, as well as being more involved with my peers with regards to work
Lecturers are very good at teaching and advising regarding study
Nice modern architecture
Everything I need is within close proximity of each other on Peel campus
Plenty of things available on campus, including Salford crescent and a short bus ride away from city centre
Haven't looked into them yet
Would prefer more contact hours so information could be spread better
Great so far, passed first year so that's a plus
A variety of emails and notifications on blackboard
Most: content Least: how repetitive lectures can be
Good safety and location
Great so far
The way they are layed out
Unsure, never really checked them out
I'm still here so something is going right
Teaches critical skills relevant to the course that would not be found anywhere
