Everything I have experienced at Loughborough so far is perfect for someone who was initially nervous about leaving home - they make you feel like you are part of a big family. Amazing facilities and opportunities.
They offer placement years as part of the course
I like the amount of contact hours to independent work - the perfect balance. As a studio culture will be included in the future career paths of my subject, I think a studio culture is more important.
Amazing facilities - so lucky to have the union that we have at such a short walking distance from halls.
Yes brilliant location.
11/10! The amount of different societies and sports is incredible - something for everyone.
Perfect balance !
It's been nothing short of amazing. Very excited to be spending the next few years here. The people this university attracts are all wonderful. What makes Loughborough is the experience and it is one of the best universities to be in as a student.
We get careers information regularly with company often dropping in to advertise job opportunities
Course is paced and structured well. All lecturers are out to help and get me motivated and excited for my course
Couldn't ask for better Completely run by students for students
Nothing that I can think of is lacking
Everything we need is within short walking distance
Sports and Societies that cater to everyone. All interests and skill levels are catered for, serious or not, Loughborough has it
We get a lot of support. As soon as we need it, all we have to do is show up to organised tutor session or talk to one of a multitude of cousellors
Incredible never been so happy in my life the people are just nice here and I genuinely haven’t run into someone that I disliked, the Union is loads of fun and very cheep, over all it’s rly good
Yes, we do personal best
Very time consuming and intense, but so engaging and they rly find ways to motivate you and make you want to do well, You engage with the lecturers and get to know them which makes it easier to ask questions and get advice
Very good 10/10
It’s close to the clubs, but far from the Tesco’s so shopping can be a hassle but we usually order from deacon who deliver to the door so that’s fine
%100 10/10 very good almost too much to choose from and the people who run the society’s and sports teams are usually very welcoming of new people whilst keeping a high standard that the current members can enjoy
As a dyslexic student I am supported by the uni in a rage of different manners, including extra time in exams and the ability to get lecture notes before the lecture.
Enjoyable, busy and engaging. Great personnel, helpful and open to all. No discrimination or disrespectful incidents. Great fitness facilities and courses. 9/10 Would recommend.
Weekly updates regarding employability. Great placement office.
Most- The content and duration. Least likeable- A few lecturers do not relate much to the course and deviate.
Caring, fun loving and helpful.
10/10. Too many available which is good.
Perfect balance between social life and academics. Have made great friends and found societies that interest me and will help me develop as a student in university.
It is really practical and is constantly challenging me to be better
My experience has been amazing, in my university. I am a first year student, until now, I have loved everything, such as the big library it has, which is open 24/7 during exams. This allows the individuals to study at their fullest, and other than that, life is amazing here.
It has a lot of Carrer fairs, where we can get connected with the employers helping us to build the initial stone.
It has a lot of subjects, which are not related to accounting, however are helpful in the real world.
The students union is great, it provides ya with a lot of support and provide us with a lot of volunteering opportunities, that can look good on the CV.
They are amazing .
The university is amazing, and has all the facilities inside, which a human would need.
Loughborough university is best known for sports, so I would say that, it contains every type of sport, an individual can think of.
The support is excellent, staff are helpful and friendly and will provide all support.
Fine. I question why I chose this university almost every week. Support for transgender students is terrible and we need way better mental health support that isn't provided.
Some modules are created to test or create specific skills but could be produced in a different way.
AWFUL. Tutors are nice but variable by person. Mental health support is basically non existent.
I love being independent. I can do whatever I want whenever I want. Although I had a period half way through semester 1 where I didn’t know who my friends were, I have now fully settled into myself as more confident, more genuine and just happier. I can’t wait to continue learning, pushing myself and making memories with my friends.
We have amazing connections with big companies in all departments for placement years and graduate jobs, such as Microsoft and IBM. We have a fantastic careers department who run department-specific careers fairs, free for all students, and is super helpful and educational.
I like the way that we don’t just have spoken lectures, we also have practical labs and workshops. The labs are great for hands on learning and applying the taught knowledge, and the workshops are great for solidifying your understanding of the work done in your own time. The lecturers are all really high quality and all lectures are recorded and made available so even if you’re ill you don’t miss a thing. The resources given to us are great including free software required for all modules and plenty of extra questions and reading.
It is the number one student union in the country! It has great options for different types of music on a night out and it is aesthetically great, the staff are great, and during the day the activities organised by the LSU team are fantastic. It is a great communal space to eat, meet people, work, relax, shop, and do other fun activities like international food fair and dog petting!
They are all very modern and certainly suffice. There are 2 fantastic gyms, plenty of on site laundry, shop, student union, sports facilities, loads of different types of study spaces, huge library, common rooms, department buildings, extremely high tech stem lab, and many more!
Yes, it’s a 10 minute walk into town which has everything you need.
Loughborough is the number 1 sports university in the world. So that says it all really. There are a fantastic number of sport and society options and I don’t have enough time to do all the ones I want to!
The academic feedback is great. In some modules, some work is submitted online such as quizzes and tests giving immediate feedback! Some coursework is returned with personal descriptions of the way the marks were awarded. You can meet with a lecturer at any convenient time to discuss your progress, and you have regular meetings with your academic tutor. For personal support, in my experience I applied for counselling and received the referral within less than a week! And the experience was very helpful and I haven’t needed to return because it helped me so much. The counselling is done depending on your department so the staff really understand your needs and concerns. Additionally the committee and wardens in your accommodation are a great personal support. Finally the LSU welfare and diversity team are always looking out for us by hosting welfare events such as dog petting and yoga, and they run Nightline, a programme similar to Samaritans to help in times of crisis when nobody else is there.
It’s been incredible and I love it very much, Loughborough is the perfect place for me and I don’t think any other uni would have suited me better than this!!! The student union and sports are incredible
Not sure yet
The most is through practical work and the least through 2 hour long lectures
Yes it’s very good, a little far from grocery shops however
So many societies and sports
Very good I think
Amazing. Even if not sporty you still fit in it’s fantastic atmosphere everyone wants to do well and that’s motivating Amazing campus and town wit great courses on offer
Personal best programme highly
Very open to all abilities Some not helpful in preparing for exam
Good representation overall quite impressive
Excellent although more study Space needed
Fairly limited depends some good some bad
