Best is passionate lecturers for the most part, needs more optional modules and greater focus on the entire pharmaceutical industry e.g. Market Access to greater inform students of non lab areas for future careers and prepare those who don't necessarily want to pursue a lab career.

Good quality, was in halls during COVID and the social aspects lacked compared to other halls

Great course content, lab experience and simulation of industry processes which prepare you for working as a chemical engineer.

Great value as only term time renting, really social and perfect location. Downside was 1 person out of 60 people in a block setting the fire alarm off in the middle of the night!

Best - superb quality of lectures in some modules. Worst - occasionally unclear assessment guidance and changes from traditional essays to ‘employability task’ created a disconnect between assessment approaches.

Lectures are useful, a lot of computer lab sessions. Did 4 courseworks throughout the year, which improved my coding skills greatly.

19 meals a week save a ton of money, room is big, great view of the town and good wifi. Has some mild in the showers. Maintenance could be improved by fixing the elevators in time and not leaving them out of service for a month

Heating is really bad.

The ability to have lecture catch up and the wealth of information available on the VLE makes it easy to learn in which ever way you want. The fact that all our lectures are active researchers also means you get insights into the cutting edge of the field you are being taught. Worst is that its an interdisplinary course so sometimes schools have different ways of doing things that can clash

Being so close to the engineering buildings and the community vibes. If you are trying to sleep and someone is partying the noise cancelling between floors and flats is not that great

More support for placement students needed. Nowhere near enough support for dissertations and feels like luck-based whether you get a good supervisor or not. Terrible supervisor system and nowhere near enough support for the dissertation overall.

I had silverfish and not enough was done. Some clothes and my guitar case went mouldy from being in my wardrobe and I had to throw away. Curtains also went mouldy.

Can be difficult to get in contact without lecturers without going to their office during office hours, however they do care about the students. All lectures are in-person for me (not for everyone) but are also recorded so it is easy to catch up on anything you may have missed and the lecturers ask for feedback to help improve the lectures for us.

I didn't get given a room that matched my preferences but the girls in the flat made it enjoyable, we often struggled with maintenance such as a broken oven and constantly broken toilets, but they would always come and fix it . There are also people that are available to call 24/7 if you need any help such as being locked out of your flat because you forgot your key. I didn't have an ensuite so my flat was cheaper and worth the money.
