I love football and the best thing about Newcastle is Newcastle United. The university is one of its kind and also the football club is playing well. If you are a student at Newcastle United, you get discounted tickets from your Studens Union for matches held at St James Park. The study becomes progressively difficult, easy going at first and then becoming difficult. The campus is fantastic and has all the great facilities a university can offer.

One of the best parts of my uni is the location and set out of its campus. The facilities are great and close together, so it’s really easy to have a good routine without having to mess about with public transport. For example I can wake up, walk to the gym, head to my building, do some work or speak to a professor if I need some help, and then stop for food at either a food place or shop. This is all without leaving campus. The only thing I can think to improve in would be the price of some of the facilities. For example this year I paid £70 for access to intramural sports, which doesn’t include access to the gym or anything like that- you have to pay for that separate and it’s quite a lot more . However, I can’t fault the quality of any of it, nor the support

Just a side note- I can’t really say much for the internships and job opportunities as I am only first year, so that’s not really my main focus right now. However there have definitely been mentions of internships for those available. I really enjoy my course content as I find it very relevant. When i was first choosing which uni to go to, a lot of course specs were outdated or uninteresting, but Newcastles was the opposite. I find all the professors very engaging and informative, so I very rarely get stuck. If I am, however, they are more often than not available. The only thing I can think to improve on is sometimes Recap is difficult to use, or doesn’t work. Online lectures are also at quite bad times, e.g immediately after an in person lecture, and I know quite a lot people who have trouble accessing them

Everything is so close by and there’s something for everyone, e.g bars and clubs but also so many activities for during the day and for people that don’t drink. Newcastle is so cheap compared to other cities so all in all is the perfect student city in my opinion

My halls are the cheapest available and you can definitely tell, given how outdated they are compared to others. However, for what I pay, they are great in terms of location and services. We get a cleaner for communal areas once a week, and security are available 24/7. Any issues we do have with heating or hot water (quite common as they are old halls) are fixed quickly
