Honesty the best aspect is the city, you won’t find a better place to study and live. There’s always something to do whether that be outside or in the uni. Everything is so close together because of the metro, it’s great. The not so great aspects is that some of the staff have not been keeping to the timetables that were decided on before you start the course/ next year of your studies. However I have been assured that the people higher up are seeing to this issue and I have already seen a change in the past couple weeks. So hopefully this won’t be for too long. Newcastle university is the place to be and if you’re not able to come here but want to come to Newcastle, Northumbria university is literally across the road and they’re also great.

We have blended learning. The course hours are long outside of the actual timetabled hours. Yes it’s hard work but it’s definitely worth it. If you are able to manage your time well it won’t be too strenuous really. If you’re worried you can always apply for a PEC or extension and they’re pretty good with accepting those applications.

Due to having a new built engineering building , getting on with work doesn’t seem to much of a chore due to having a relaxed environment around you. The city is full of friendly vibrant people and there’s never not an event going on to take part in. One thing the uni could improve is accommodation. The current accommodation is great however there was a lack of accommodation when I applied which led to me spending hours of my time trying to swap an accommodation I had received (30 mins away from my engineering building ) to something a bit closer. I managed to achieve this in the end however more option for accommodation would solve this problem. After to speaking to many people this was a common problem when joining the university due to the campus being so spread around the city

So far I have really enjoyed my course. From the subjects to the style of teaching I can’t really put a bad word in. The lecturers are enthusiastic and the content is engaging. I would say the worst thing is it’s common to be told more information in the lectures than what’s required for exams which became apparent in the January exams

Personally I would say my accommodation is quite pricey for an accommodation that is almost identical to others however it’s always clean, well maintained and safe. The location is great for business and finance students and not too long of a walk into the main campus. Rooms are spacious and the amenities are all reliable
