Lovely place to live, everyone's really friendly, sports societies are free to join so you can try lots of new things Mental health support system could be improved, Internet is hit and miss

Have maximum 3 lectures a week, some modules had 3 lectures for total and no assignment support

Security available at all times, old building, always cold

The views are amazing, theres also a lot of opportunities, for example, internships with sea watch foundation, as well as loads of society’s and clubs to choose from, which can provide experience and other opportunities like meeting people from the industry you want to work in and making connections. You also get a free student life wrist band, which gets you free access to the uni’s club on a Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. There are only 2 clubs, which isn’t as many as other towns and cities, but there are plenty of pubs and bars to make up for it.

The lectures are all in person, there is also a mixture of time spent in computer labs, labs (for practicals) and field trips where you gather data to use in the labs. Course hours vary each week, the most I’ve had is 25 hours, but that included a 5 hour field trip. At the end of every lecture, there is the option to speak to the lecturer or you can reach them by email. Although i wish there was more time spent on the boat, it was something that was heavily advertised on the open days, but have yet to be on it.

There is a bus system that can take you over to Anglesey. There is a train station a short walk into town. Lots of supermarkets such as Morrisons, Aldi and Asda. There is a pier. They don’t have any actual fish and chip shops, they’re always Chinese and fish and chips, or kebab shops that do them, so you have to check if your getting fries or actual chippy chips. Lots of places for food, such as Greggs, the belle vue or the castle.

I have an en-suite for £120 a week, it comes with a wardrobe, 2 notice boards, desk, chair, lamp, 2 bins, set of draws, and a table/opens into a storage compartment thing. In the bathroom its ok, but I’m not keen on the shower, its more like a pressure washer than a shower head, and you can’t get a boiling hot shower, but besides that, the bathroom is fine. It is overall value for money, they have cleaners in once a week to clean the kitchen as it is a shared living area, and every 3 months maintenance clean the shower heads.
