Bangor university is in a great location and all areas are easily accessible and within walking distance of each other, the tutors are helpful and feedback is generally given in a timely manner. The lectures are sometimes quite full on and it can become difficult to take everything in that is being taught, however when the issue was raised that they were getting a bit full on with a lot of slides on PowerPoints the tutors worked to lessen the size of their lectures and made concise and helpful points in their teaching. The Facilities are good at Bangor and there’s plenty of computers and books to utilise for referencing and using to complete assignments. Assessments are set out early giving me plenty of time to plan and write my work allowing time to also receive feedback and access help before the submission dates. Tutors are always willing to help and show enthusiasm in each student always supportive of any struggle or worry I face.

The course gives students a great insight into the role of a police officer over the 3 years giving students key and integral knowledge to take with them into the role of a police constable and many other roles within the criminal justice sector. Many of the tutors are ex police officers and personnel with a significant number of years service combined and those who haven’t worked in the sector still have extensive knowledge and understanding of the role and what needs to be taught. I would say this is a great course for students wanting to join the police service.

Close to home for me, easy to travel as a mature student living at home.

Not many hours of lectures and all spread throughout the week which can be blended into 1/2 days to allow students to have full days off to do work or work part time such as myself
