coming to a uni like bangor has presented opportunities to me that i never thought i would have. In terms of support, the university has helped me both academically in my department, in the union and personally with student services. the staff are skilled and experienced, offering constant help daily, lecturers and guest lecturers are brought in to provide classes ranging from handling pressure, to planning essays, to cooking skills. the surrounding mountains and sea views from the accommodation is surreal, I'm able to surf, ski and play american football all in one place. it is truly a home from home. due to the support and help, opportunities and sport available, i have grown to love the area and the cities diversity (due to the uni itself being so international). Im only 4 months into my first year and i've met so many amazing people with amazing stories from all over the world, joined teams and clubs that i never could have imagined playing and I'm already due to travel the world because of the unis funding and schemes for all students to study to their best capabilities. the city is small, but because of this everyone is close, making it easy to grow on the city tucked away behind the mountains and sea. there is always something going on, i didn't know there were places like this in the UK- truly surreal- an outgoing students paradise.

My university experience has been incredible so far. There have been ups and downs, but the people I've met have got me through, and I've found myself along the way. I've found myself a new place to call home, and at the end of a great experience I'll come out with a degree, life skills and great memories.

Excellent. They are always trying to improve upon the facilities too if there are problems with them.

Brilliant. Personal tutors are excellent and are so helpful when you need it, as long as you ask for the help! The peer guide system put in place for freshers week is fantastic too, it has students helping students for the academic side of things and the student-life side too.

Really good

The city is small, but friendly. It makes for a real community feel towards the city and university. There are enough high street brand shops that you would find in the biggest cities, so it isn't completely dead, but there isn't everything making it hard to have lots of choice for things to do too.

AMAZING. One of the best things about the uni is that all the clubs & socs are free to join. It makes it really easy to try as many things as possible to find something that fits every person's personality. The range of things on offer too is great, and if there isn't something, you can always start it up yourself! :)

The different type of modules available to take - including fieldwork, individual research, and taught based modules. This increases the variability of the course, making it more fun to study. Lecturers are well involved and approachable, meaning that a good relationship can be built up with them over the years.

The careers service puts on lots of different sessions to improve employability, which they release the schedule of at the start of the semester, so you can plan which ones to attend. They also run the employability award, where you can get points for recognised activities both within the university and otherwise. Attending employability sessions builds up points towards receiving the award. Some schools also offer placement modules (whether optional or compulsory), which are really beneficial to complete, and tutors give lots of support when finding a placement and during the placement itself. My course in particular offers lots of different types of assessments which allows you to develop skills whilst completing coursework. Skills such as presentation, group work, research, IT, etc.

It is quite a nice house, especially in comparison to other student properties we know of. It is small though, and not much room in the communal rooms, or in some bedrooms. The property has had a few issues over the years we have lived there, and the landlord has been really good in responding to the problem and getting them fixed asap.
