Northumbria is a fantastic uni, given that it has all the facilities you would find in a uni plus some additional features. The Uni is pretty close to the major clubs and pubs in the city and also the city has great malls, a beach and other places of interest. The University is conveniently located near all major attractions and also travelling to and from Northumbria is pretty easy. Also, when you are in a city like Newcastle, you should look forward to supporting Newcastle United and watching a match at St James Park. The local Geordies are quite passionate about the club.
Northumbria is an excellent university and is definitely one of its kind. You definitely can not be sad with the decision of going to Northumbria. While at uni you will learn to be independent and would come to know about your responsibilities as a student, which you might not learn until you go to uni. The uni has all kinds of facilities essential for students such as fully operational 24 hour libraries for students who like to work late at night, lots of computers everywhere on campus, personlaised email address, blackboard to access the lecture contents online and students union where you can meet friends and relax between lectures.
The uni is situated in the heart of the city centre on Newcastle upon Tyne, which makes it perfect in terms of location. Everything is literally 2 minutes away from here. The halls of residence are less than 2 minutes away from the university which makes it easier for all the freshers who are worried about the type of accommodation to choose. Also, the city has an unrivallous nightlife and is totally unbeaten. The city also has some good sights worth visiting like the Tyne bridge and also the shopping at Eldon Square and Metro Centre shopping centres are out of the world.
I feel Northumbria has helped me a great deal in increasing my confidence. Northumbria is more focussed on practical knowledge rather than theoretical knowledge. It has a lot of presentations, assignments and projects that focus on building the practical knowledge on how stuff works. There are exams but they usually comprise of around half of the module. Also, the great facilities in the University ensures that students are able to work whenever they want and are able to finish their work on time .
Its not been long since I joined Northumbria and I feel I am addicted to it. I cant go by a day easily when I am home and dont have to go to uni. I feel that somethjing is missing when I dont have to go to uni. The uni would teach you to learn and also how to procrastinate, but you will be able to cope up with everything, as that is what uni life is about. It helps you to become independent and you wont need any extra advice about your work. Just make sure you study sometimes while you are partying hard for the entire week.
I would give full overall rating to Northumbria as it is a superb University. The lecturers are well above the level tht you think. The uni itself is fantastic with all the modern facilities and not to forget, the halls of residence are better than most universities. I would recommend staying in halls for the first year as it gives you an opportunity to make loads of friends, as everyone is looking to make friends and they will become your friends for life. The best part of being at uni is that you can forget all the stress you have and chill on weekends with the newly made friends.
I study at Northumbria and so far it has been awesome. I am having the time of my life at Northumbria and I am really happy with my decision to study at Northumbria. The halls are of good size and the University staff is very helpful. The lecturers are friendly and highly qualified. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to go uni as Northumbria is a really good uni especially for those who do not want to give up partying while at uni. The nightlife here is so good that you will never be short of the opportunities to go for a night out.
Being a student at Northumbria, I would suggest that you should live in university halls in your first year. I live in private halls which is a 10 minute walk. There are good modes of public transport if you prefer staying a bit far, but it can be a hassle when you want to reach the town quickly. There are plenty of private halls in the city but they are booked very early. I live at Central Link, and i really like it here. Here I got flatmates who are from Newcastle, Northumbria and also one of the flatmates is from Sunderland. The rooms are fabulous and the building is right next to St James Park.
Being at Northumbria, I am loving it. The University is fantastic and one of its kind. It has all modern facilities and amenities you would want to have at uni.The accommodation is decent. The city has a vibrant nightlife. My course, Psychology, is well taught and I enjoy it. The lecturers are quite witty and they are really helpful. Also, Northumbria University has great eye candy, if you are interested to know. Even the city where the University is (Newcastle) is a great one for students.

I am studying Fashion at Northumbria Uni and it is fabulous. There are people who would say that Northumbria's rank isn't high enough and that its not worth going there, but according to me rank does not matter while you are at University. What matters is the course that you want to study and how dedicated and determined you are. If you are really interested in a particular course and you dont find it at many Universities, go for the Uni where it is available even though the rank is low, as every course has its own benefits.
Northumbria is the perfect University in the best University city. The city population is dominated by students and that is the best part as the night clubs would consist mostly of students. Northumbria is well designed and well built as a compact University to make the University not very small and not very big. It has the rarest of courses available and focuses more on practical knowledge by organising industrial visits and student workshops. The city also has great shoppig facilities and has some good places to visit such as the Tyne bridge near Quayside.
I'm now at the University of Northumbria after looking for the right university for me. Its been a very exciting experience. i have made a lot of friends and find the University life pretty interesting. Overall, there is not a drastic change in me, but since being at Uni, I feel a lot more confident and independent. It looks like Northumbria is the right choice for me. Staying in halls is enjoyable and then you will be making a lot of new friends, going out on weekends and socialising. Everything will come to you naturally and you dont need to plan much for anything.
Northumbria University has inspired me to work hard for whatever I want to do. I think that University life at Northumbria is the best experience you are ever going to get. The halls are good, the University has modern infrastructure, all the modern facilities, unique courses to choose from. Also, the careers service team is always there to help you whether you are looking for a part time job, or a full time job after graduation. When you are at University, do not be afraid to ask questions about any opportunities, you will certainly get the value for what you are paying as fees.
Northumbria was my third preference in selecting a University. But as I am here, I am loving it to bits. I am having a good time at University. I love the University's infrastructure, which is quite modern with glass buildings ( unlike other Universities who like the University infrastructure to be of an ancient theme with red bricks ). While you are at first year, you will have an opportunity to stay in halls of residence, which are the best. Also, the city has a lot to offer in terms of shopping, restaurants, travelling, beach and also the unbeatable nightlife.
The University life is a must have experience for everybody and I feel that it is essential that everyone goes to the Uni and studies whatever interests them the most. According to me. Northumbria is a very good university . It has all the amenities you could ask for. The lecturers are good and the staff are always willing to help the students in need. Regarding my course, there is a lot of pressure as I have to attend more than 15 lectures a week and atleast one submission every month, not to forget two lab sessions every week. But overall, it is inspiring me to work hard.
I am a second year student and I loved my first year at Northumbria. I am loving my second year even more. The reason is that I made very good friends in my first yea, while I was living in halls of residence. Now that I am living in a private house with the same people I used to live with in my first year, I am enjoying every moment of it. The halls may not be very good, but they are quite clean, fairly big and the ,most important, very close to the University. The University has good facilities, even for people with certain needs.
Northumbria is a great university, especially for those who think that Uni is not cool enough for them. I would say that Northumbria is one of those universities where you would not only find yourself progressing in academics, but also you will be able to socialise with literally hundreds of new students. The city has a great nightlife and great for nights out. Apart from the nightlife, the city has a lot to offer like some breathtaking views of Tyne Bridge and also there is a beach nearby. The University itself is fantastic with all the modern facilities and equipments.
I am enjoying my time at Northumbria. The best part of uni life is meeting different people and living in halls and away from your family, learning to be independent. I lived in halls for my first year which i would definitely recommend, because you will meet all different types of people, all of them looking to make new friends. The rooms are good sized and almost all of them have a wash basin in the room. You would make a lot of friends in your first year by living in halls and they will be friends throughout the life. Newcastle upon Tyne is brilliant. There are good shopping places, lots of bars and restaurants. Good bus services into town as well.

FACILITIES - the university facilities are excellent, the fitness centre and business building are both exceptionally modern and well equipped. LECTURES - lecturers are quite frankly terrible, many find it hard to speak English and can not spell quite a few words. They also simply read off a powerpoint for an hour which is definitely not what I like to see my £9000 a year being spent on. Some weeks we are also only in university for 5 hours, I struggle to see how this is an education. EXTRA-CURRICULAR - the extra curricular aspects the university offer are virtually non existent. The international students of the university are not helped to be integrated into the English culture and there is a clear segregation between the different nationalities. This is a shame and something that needs to be addressed. The university also offers minimal funding to societies, travel scholarships and other activities to really engage the students.
