My university has a fantastic teaching course with no faults and I have thoroughly enjoyed my 3 years studying here. In terms of facilities, there is not a lot of support for students especially those that live on campus. When I lived on campus I was taken seriously ill due to mould with no support from the uni. Whilst the area feels safe and secure there is no student life or fun on offer which is a big part of university experience for a lot of people. The oncampus shop and canteen is open limited hours meaning a promise that students will always have access to food is not been followed through
the uni is brilliant and in a great location, provides positive support to engage with modules
So far my uni experience has been an overall positive. The place and people are all very welcoming and supportive.
Student support is there, but doesn’t seem to want to help with problems, just say they are listening. Facilities are ok but often things are broken
Amazing university, love it here!
The university has a great environment, it is really inviting, friendly and helpful which is what attracted me to join. It is a small university and therefore the SU is likely to be smaller, however I think more events can be done. I do however understand that events only work from student participation and this could be affecting it.
Great help from teachers and great help from students and if any issues they try and sort them out
I like that it’s small and close knit community and not overwhelming with people and the staff are lovely and supportive

I love studying here because it has such a close nit/family feel as when walking around you will constantly see people you know and people will happily stop to help you if you are struggling with something. For my course, I have absolutely loved that it is primarily seminars and experiential learning rather than sat in lecture theatres, however this isn't for all courses. The main buildings, and the accommodation, aren't the most well looked after, for example on the outsides the paint is peeling and it does look rusty, and in the accommodation there is mould in the bathrooms, also for halls of residence with en-suites, there is no window in these en-suites which I think would be beneficial. Overall, I love being at Marjon, the sports facilities are amazing, I am part of the netball society which is a lot of fun, even though the 1st team is the only team in BUCS, all the teams play competitive matches in the Plymouth District Netball League, and there is pretty much a society for everything so everyone can be involved. Our SU is amazing, they host an annual ball every May and are just overall very supportive and create loads of amazing opportunities, previously we had a Marjon's got talent that anyone could enter, the prize for the winner was money that went to their society so it was very competitive, and they sold out the tickets and it was such a lovely environment.
I have really enjoyed my experience with marjon university they are very student focused ensuring that we have constant support. In my experience I have been at a different university which did not provide support and was large classes, at marjon my class is smaller and I have a great team of teachers hers who make me feel welcome and I can go to them regarding anything uni or personal related knowing I will receive support. The BSc nursing course is new so the only improvement for the uni would be to have more organisation regarding the course however it is new and I’m sure they will have this in place for the future cohorts
Marion’s lecturers are absolutely amazing! They have a wealth of experience and can never do too much to help. The content so far has been super helpful in developing us as professionals. The Uni is supportive and has an intimate environment which you don’t get at other bigger universities.
location is great. nice small campus in which works nice for me personally and has a good community feel
As a mature student uni life can be difficult to juggle alongside work, children and running a home. The lecturers are people too, and they understand all your normal life stuff, but are equally firm and professional. There is ample support at the university to those who need it, its a very accessible place (in my opinion) and learning here is enjoyable but equally challenging (as it should be)
I am based at the Cornwall campus so don't access the main campus much. I have accessed student support which has been amazing. My lectures and tutor have been great.
Marjon provides a calm atmosphere for students to study. Situated near the hospital perfect for placements, but also the town centre for shopping and social activities, it provides a perfect balance for studies and social life.
The amount of care and support that is available
I love how small my cohort is and how I can ask questions and expand my knowledge. There is support academically and personally with signposting all around the uni. The lecturers are approachable but some sessions could be improved however this is expected on my course as it is new. Food is readily available yet prices could be considered as uni students cannot afford to eat at costa and shop at coop. The campus feel is very positive and easily accessible.
The best have been the people I have met, either from my course or in my flat. I have enjoyed the course most because of the lecturers and the placement. I am lucky to be put in a good placement, which the university did well in finding. The student life is not the best since it is a 15 minute uber from the nightlife and Barjon does not get very busy on student nights. If the university had a cheaper way of getting into and back from the city then it would be easier for us to access Plymouth. The societies and sports do not have the biggest appeal and there are not many society nights for them at the university.

It’s a really positive environment, but I think the challenge could be greater
Great lecturers.
Very safe.
