It was the best 3 years of my life! Loved the course met so many great people and my lecturers, especially for media were so supportive and encouraging and we were all individuals never a number. Help was always available and we could always have 1:1 sessions when needed. Only things that could be improved on would be the post uni live and how prepared we could have been. There is great support but maybe a whole group session on career prospects and wider ideas could have been more helpful

My first year was during covid so it was all online except for 1 hour a week, but then it picked up to all in person lectures and seminars which were a lot more beneficial and enjoyable. It was good to put names to faces and make great friends with my course mates.

Great location couldn’t get any better. Security were always on hand if you had a problem, and other teams were there to fix any plumbing or fixture issues we had. It was a great place to make friends and it was a time I will never forget. Wifi sometimes was temperamental, this was especially the case in my first year where we needed it so much when we were all online. The price has gone up since I stayed there which I think is too much for what it is. I am lucky I had financial help to afford to stay there but some aren’t so fortunate.

The best is that the library is open 24/7 and most staff around uni are really lovely. I had a bad experience with a flatmate but thankfully this issue was solved quickly.

I love the creative writing lessons and the amount of freedom given with essays. For example, for one of my essays i’m allowed to submit my own poetry. I find Literature a little more difficult with the old style English used in most of the texts we study.

Really close to Uni and the city centre, it’s a pretty building and the scenery is nice. However I was given the smallest room and the only one without heating or a refurbished shower, but I’m still paying the same as everyone else in the flat. Our kitchen is also one of the smallest. I think you just get lucky if you get put in a nicer flat. I do think City Residence is one of the best halls, I just got unlucky.
