Best is practical learning, worst is phone signal on campus

York St John is an amazing place to study! The university provides amazing support for students who are struggling and you never feel embarrassed or ashamed to reach out for help. The union is always having events and there is always something to do. There are many societies to join and there is something for everybody so you will find a society you’re interested in and you will meet some amazing people with the same interests so it is easy to make friends. The uni is in a prime location as you are only a five minute walk from the town centre so if you ever have a gap in between lessons you can always pop into town. The courses are amazing as they are all exciting and interesting and the lectures are great as they are very supportive, helpful and friendly and if you are struggling in your studies you never feel scared to ask for support. The campus is good as well as it is modern but there are also buildings that are older so you have the best of both!

The course I do is amazing as you learn about all aspects of education and in a lot of detail. You learn all about things that you never thought you would and it helps to give you a bigger picture in all of education. You can always receive support from your lecturers as they are always there to listen to you and give you help. You can always email your lecturers and they respond quickly as well. The placements provided are of high quality and you can tell there has been a lot of care that has gone into the placement and the placement team are very helpful and informative.

This accommodation is one of the cheaper accommodations at the university so it’s not luxurious however it is great value. You are only a 15 minute walk from campus so it is quick and convenient. You are in a house so it feels like you are still at home so you don’t get as home sick and the facilities inside the houses are great as you get provided with everything that you need. There is security that is at the accommodation every day so you never feel like you could be in danger. The wifi is a little slow sometimes but you can pay for better wifi if you wanted it. There are washing machines there but you have to pay for them however they are nkt expensive and it costs around £3 for a wash load but the washing machines are big so you can wash a lot of clothes in one wash load.
