Sort:Latest reviewsThe campus is lovely and has such nice study and learning spaces, such as the library which is open 24/7. Some of the worst things about this university is how the accommodations are quite expensive and the food options on campus could be better.
Nothing to improve
Sports are great at the university! Whether you are a beginner or an elite, you can find the sport right for you. On the flip of that, I feel that if you are not in a sport at Birmingham, or a society, you might not get as much out of the university experience. A lot of events are geared to students who live on campus, not commuting students.
18-24 years
Great facilities and amazing campus. Offers loads of things to get involved in through the guild or through the colleges. Worst part is the affordability of the clubs. A lot of the university teams are simply too unaffordable to take part in. Memberships are far too high for students to want to pay to join.
The energy and amenities on campus are great and provides a lot of opportunity. Student support could be better
The best aspect is the independence; however, the worst part for me has been that it’s felt very isolating. i haven’t met the right people despite being in my second year and it feels like everyone else has settled in except for me.
Improvements could include more halal food places on campus
The campus is beautiful and lively which is great, and there are a lot of good study spaces. The societies and student groups are also really good. I have a great student life here with lots of oppurtunities to make friends!
The university is extremely beautiful. The lecturers are very welcoming and the content is delivered well. The student union is amazing and the location (being so close to Selly Oak) is very useful.

Best bit? Societies, study spaces and staffing in the School of GEES! Great module variety and amazing fieldwork/lab skills opportunities embedded throughout my degree. Worst bit? Selly Oak (student rental area) isn't the cleanest/prettiest to look at, but fun variety of small businesses/charity shops/transport options nearby.
The best aspect is the support teams, particularly EDACS welfare A lot of the plugs don't work in most study areas.
Best: The Campus - I love how easily I can walk from my accommodation to uni and how close everything is together. The beauty of the campus also adds to this and the ease of navigation. Worst: I haven't had any bad experience, one small negative aspect was the lack of contact hours in second year, but after we spoke with the department they took this into consideration and kept following up with us showing that they tried to fix it.
I love the campus and the course. However, some modules have been irrelevant to my course and there have been issues with being told limited information about assignments and limited feedback on assignments occasionally.
Best = easy to talk to people and get support. Worst= most socials are either drinking-focused or not commuter-friendly, so it's harder to build friendships outside the course for commuters
Beautiful campus, unfriendly people, hard to make friends, wellbeing Officer is very dismissive and lacks empathy. We need to hire people that have the right personality for these type of roles.
The campus itself is lovely, has a comfortable and safe feel and always great places to study, especially with how large it is and how much space there is.
The uni is really nice, with a beautiful campus. There’s plenty of places to get food, and many good study locations too. Everywhere is kept in good condition the majority of the time too, so it’s clean and tidy. Always nice staff around too. Always run loads of events too which keeps things interesting. Can’t think of any improvements at the minute, a pretty strong uni I’m proud to go to.
The best: the actual campus has everything you need in one location including the train station Worst: student parking facilities - theres only 1 spot on pritchatts road that's easily accessible to campus and considering we are already paying tuition fees, having to pay for parking adds another financial worry.
The campus is gorgeous and I love the facilities at the uni. They have great career support and I love the fact that I'm being taught by people researching in their field.

I absolutely LOVE the campus! It's beautiful in the summer and so magical in the winter. I feel so supported at University and have made some incredible friends!
Due to the large number of people studying my course, it doesn't feel as personal as it could do and I don't know any of my tutors or lecturers personally and don't think they know me personally.
I absolutely loved staying at Chamberlain on the Vale - it was really sociable and a great location. I made loads of friends because of it.
