For me, QM didn't live up to my expectations. I feel as though it is a big uni, and I don't feel like I am very involved and there are barely any events to try and make students feel involved either. In general when choosing a uni, make sure you look at the unions, facilities and the communities that the uni has more so than just the academic side of things, but saying that, don't expect too much from QM. If you are applying through clearing and are worried, don't. The clearing team are really helpful.I would recommend QM to others, but make sure you read all the advice about the uni you can first.
Make sure you submerge yourself and enjoy uni life and being a student. The best bit about uni life for me, is making all the friends I have. Just make sure you do well in your A Levels to get in.
Make sure you research into all the clubs and societies and all the activities you can get involved in. Get careers, internships and work placement advice, it is all available at the uni, but it's not publicised very much, so take the initiative. In general get involved and be independent!
Uni is a lot of work, but it is great. First year is definitely the best, so make sure you enjoy it and make the most of it. Also make sure that when you are applying, you read around the subject and get as much background knowledge on the subject as possible.
I would say for a prospective student to make sure that they know the course that they want to study and all the modules in depth. For applying, make sure you are individual in your personal statement, and make sure you explain why you want to do the course.
Uni life is good. I would say that you need to be prepared mentally to work, but most of all make sure you enjoy it. There's a balance between work and having fun, you just need to find it. Make sure you do all the work experience you need before you apply to the uni and look for placements. Also doing the Duke of Edinburgh awards looks great on your personal statement.
My uni life is absolutely great, and I love the fact that it's one of the only campus based uni's in London. Everything you need is soo close to each other. That means that you are outdoors quite a bit travelling from building to building, so in the cold weather make sure you bring a coat! When you are applying to uni, then make sure that you get help, there's plenty available out there
Uni is definitely tough, but also incredibly rewarding and a fantastic experience. I would say for you to make sure you enjoy your 1st year as much as possible as it gets tougher as the years progress.Make sure that prior to coming to uni you do as much research as possible!
Uni life is great, and a lot of fun. You get to meets soo many people from everywhere across the world. I would recommend that you mingle a lot and meet as many people from different courses as you can. People tend to stick to the people they know in their courses. Make sure you get good grades at A Level, and do as many extra curricular activities that you can to get a place at QM.
Uni is good, but really stressful in the final year.A word of advice, don't but food etc. on campus, it's really expensive. Just go to a big chain supermarket eg. Tesco/ Sainsburys. It's much cheaper.
I find uni great, but it's going soo quick! Make sure you enjoy every single minute of it, and also make the most of your time at uni and all the opportunities that uni offers and the facilities. As long as you get good A Level, and the grade you need, then you will be fine.
I absolutely love Queen Mary. One piece of advice that I would give, is to make sure you take advantage of everything that's on offer at the university. There is a lot you can do, you just need to make the effort and get involved!
Uni is ok, it's just a lot of hard work.Make sure that you attend the lectures. Uni is a lot different to school in that you aren't registered when you attend lectures, so you have to make sure you are independent and work hard.
Uni is great! The uni residence are really helpful and friendly. Students should definitely come! The uni really looks after you! There is a huge range of subjects that the uni offers, so there is definitely something for everyone. The only criticism that I would make, is that the uni doesn't put up the reading list early enough and at the start of the year I do feel like I'm always lagging a bit behind, but I put in the hard work and soon catch up.I would definitely say that QM is highly under rated. The education and quality of the courses are excellent, and the uni isn't given enough credit
I absolutely love my time at uni so far.All I would say for students that are thinking of coming to Queen Mary, or are due to start soon, would be to make sure that you work hard from the first year, and enjoy your time at uni!In terms of getting a place, make sure you get relevant work experience, and write it down on your personal statement, but don't stress too much about getting a place, as QM is quite lenient.
I'm enjoying my uni life, however in terms of the workload, some of the lecturers expect you just to know it all! So make sure you do all the background reading, because if you don't do it, or make an effort to understand it yourself, then you will fall behind very easily - at least make sure you read the abstracts!Being an international student, I do find the fees really expensive, and I would recommend other international students to visit before coming. I would also tell them to think about doing a foundation year prior to your actual degree. It definitely helped me feel more confident.
I have had an incredible time at QMUL. My course has been well delivered with lots of modules to choose from each year, allowing me to specialise and focus on my own personal areas of interest. The campus is perfect for me; not too big, not too small. It feels safe and homely whilst still being right in the centre of the capital city. There's always something to do, whether it be on campus in the Students' Union, or off campus in the city - there's never a dull moment!

I like my uni a lot. It's great because it's campus based and everything is in the one place. The uni is also well connected to other uni's and businesses in the UK and abroad. I love the fact that it really is a London Uni. To get a place make sure you have work experience and do a lot of extra curricular activities
