I love studying here. There is a really strong sense of community with lots of support from staff and peers. Th lectures are well organised and structured! And highly enjoyable. I would recommend this uni to a friend for sure.
It been an incredible experience and a privilege to attend Queen Mary - I consider myself very lucky to have been able to study here. For any students interested in pursuing a history degree, I don't think there is a better department or undergrad history degree in London.
I'd say I'm quite happy, however, if I didn't get involved in the societies or volunteering I'd probably have another opinion. The university provides a lot of opportunities but people need to be proactive and actually want to get involved in them, otherwise, the university experience is quite bleak. I feel like QMUL's advantages is the Students Union and the campus, but the content or course-specific site is not that well organized, sometimes in the labs, there are too many people or some of the lecturers are not prepared or just not interested in their topic. I feel like with a scientific degree they could do more, especially implement some innovative courses or optional modules (eg. introduce scientific programming or data analysis) that could push people towards other degrees in the future not just deliver to those students who want to progress to graduate medicine.
After 2 years of trying to persevere through this hell hole of a university I had to force myself to leave and continue elsewhere , even before my initial enrolment they questioned my fee status ? An English born and bred citizen ? Who had attended a foundation degree at a different uni with Home status already! I’m not going to play the race card but my mind does wonder. Delayed studies , unhelpful and unenthusiastic staff, please stay away from this institution of chaos.
Terrible university for mature students- zero support offered, and the vast majority of students are incredibly young. Difficult for integration. Awful pastoral care, varied teaching standards, and very few contact hours. Overall, do not come here if you are over 18 on application!
The university is a great place to meet new people. The campus is well structured, the library has great resources and there is a big choice of places where to eat. As for the academic activity lectures are open to queries and the staff is friendly. Finally there are lots of volunteering and paid job opportunities which students can make use of throughout the course
Its a nice university as its a campus university. People are very friendly and you can sign up for different societies. For those who come from abroad there's free English course available
Campus is full of entertainment, great work opportunities, you can do volunteering or work in a cafe as a student ambassador and many more. Would recommend this uni
Campus is full of entertainment, great work opportunities you can do volunteering or work in the cafe! Would recommend this uni.
The great thing about being at QM is that it's a campus university in the middle of London. I am really enjoing my time, the course is run well. I would recommend coming to this university. There are lots of activities in London, and many societies to join.
