It is very diverse.
Best is how close to central London it is and the societies and clubs Worst aspect is Mile End location itself not the safest
Best experience is the location and ease in being able to go to central London and other fun places. Worst aspects would be how different looking the campus buildings are doesn’t feel like a uniform look
More group study spaces
Student services and student life are amazing, staff are friendly and very willing to help. Facilities are a bit underwhelming and things feel outdated
It's close to a lot of places in London. Very diverse and has people from all over the world. Great opportunities to help increase employability beyond just your degree. Wide range of society. You can find almost any society. From sports and clubs to knitting and food societies. Improve by ensuring all lecturers are fluent and can effectively explain things in English.
I like the uni life away from the studying, having the freedom to go out in London and experience proper adult life. Although, I do not enjoy having constant 9am lectures because they are grueling when I have to commute for over an hour
on campus facilities are great compared to other london universities
One of the best aspects of my University is the Campus. Being the only Campus in London it provides students with a lot of facilities to make their life easier, like restaurant cafes and a small shop. The worst aspect I think it might be the graveyard in the middle of the Campus
I’ve loved my experience at QM! The Students Union is super active and there are always events going on and opportunities to meet new people. My professors have been great, they’re all easy to get in contact with. The campus is under construction so it’s a little rough right now but I’m excited to see what it’s look like in a few years.
I study medicine on the Maltese campus of the university. While the location is gorgeous, it can get very quiet during the winter months, this helps to study but can also become boring very quickly. Because the campus is small, the student societies are not as developed as they are on other campuses.
Queen Mary has great facilities and resources for all courses- everything you need can be found within campus which has a great atmosphere. There isn’t too much to do in the local area however, there are two tube stations within a 5 minute walk from the Mile End campus!!
Has been very enjoyable since the beginning. Accounting and Management course has varieties of modules that help me understand accounting from different perspectives.
Great student support and variety in the course.

The Queen Mary campus gives us students a true sense of university life, making it a great place to study. The fact that it’s a Russel Group university has meant that I have been able to work with and learn from published writers and researchers. It’s amazing to have seminar readings that are published by your own professors. Moreover, the university hasn’t only provided a great educational experience, but also an opportunity to work and gain valuable skills through its student ambassador scheme. As a student ambassador, I’ve been able to meet some great politicians. Furthermore, work opportunities such as open days, welcome weeks and Higher Education fairs have really built my confidence in public speaking and interacting with new people. There have been times where I have faced technical problems with the university website. However, the IT team have been very good at providing quick responses. One thing I really appreciated is the webinar that was held to discuss any inconveniences faced at the university. A range of students from different departments were invited and we were able to post any issues that we have faced across the faculty. For example, some students expressed their concern in not knowing where to ask for financial help. Another subject that came up was the university website layout and how it can be confusing for some students to find certain pages that they need. The staff took note of all of these things and started working immediately on resolving these concerns. The website is now being updated to provide more clear help and the team is working on a FAQ page that can answer questions that both National and international students have. The last point I would like to make is that the university gives great career support. After graduating, the career website for jobs and graduate schemes is available for 2 years. Also, we are sent internship opportunities that match our degree programme throughout our years of study from our career advisor. Overall, the university has gone above and beyond expectations.
Whitechapel campus poorly equipped compared to mile end
We are in the heart of East London, which isn't one of the nicest places to live. But it is cheap and there is a lot of culture in the area. Uni has always been supportive when help is required. Good student support services, very responsive to enquiries. There are 2 big libraries, one in the Whitechapel campus. Really love both of these libraries and the facilities that the university provides there.
More info on society’s and things
The campus was one of the best parts about the experience, there are a lot of facilities and little things that are available on campus that make life easier. Also the libraries, that there are several of around London, are very convenient as places to go and focus on work. The university could have improved the events that are organised for the students, comparing to events I attended from other London universities, Queen Mary events were lacking.

There is lots of support. Teaching is done well. Worst i would say is probably that sometimes different teachers (from the same home schools) can have different requirements for basic things like referencing, presentation and formatting of texts, margin for extra words etc. This leaves you confused and often with a lower grade because if you don't know the teacher's style you need to guess. Sometimes the advisors can be unresponsive so you don't know what to do. Campus is nice but there are some buildings that are quite old.
I like that everything is in class and that they adapt whenever we have strikes. I don't like that often the course lectures and seminars are spread out throughout the whole week instead of being put in two/ three weekdays max (this is very doable). Because of this you can only work on the weekend (which is not nearly enough to pay london bills) when you should be studying / preparing for the week ahead / getting a little bit of rest to be ready for the week ahead.
