The university has huge "campus" and 24h library. I was in the architecture department and the study was intensive, lots of lectures and homeworks but it is good to be pushed. The studios were really different and the way they organized were very public and it is conveniente to learn from others.
Britain is expensive, however if you pick a smaller student city it will be much cheaper. For instance, travelling and accommodation in London is sky high, in Sheffield accommodation is about 60-70 pounds a weeek in a student house, inc. bills. My budget for a week was 50 British Pounds for food and going …
My advice would be about accommodation. Finding an accommodation in Sheffield is rather difficult due to the great number of students. You need to look for an accommodation very soon and consult the university website regularly. Not all the Erasmus students are accepted in the university accommodation. The …
the only university for material science in the uk. i wouldn't recommend it for the lectures, it was to easy and just not the level of my university. good parties, a lot of international students, organisation was ok
The cost of living compared to The Netherlands are much higher. Especially food and rent are more expensive. Since I am here for only one semester it is necessary that you have some financial reserves, because finding work for only one semester is rather difficult.
This university is one of the best in the states for business. It provides coop experience so that one can get work experience while attending a university. This allows for students to get job offers before school is over and provides references and experience for future endeavors. The university has many facilityes for students.
The most important goal for my exchange period was to get fluent in English which is why the location had to be in an English speaking country.
Sheffield university is a great experience. My advice to anyone thinking about embarking on the university and all it has to offer is that get involved, with anything and everything. Also make the most of the diverse opportunity. For my own experience I am going to say i think city life is positive and transport to the university and near shopping centres are extremely good. Visit sheffield and go to crystal peaks, meadowhall, and most important the university!
I would recommend anyone thinking about university to stay in halls in your first year! It really made my experience all the worth while. I am really enjoyinh my university experience. I loved my accomdation and flat mates at endcliffe and we all decided to still live together in second year and love living in our house with my friends. I enjoy my course although i do not feel i get much support from lecturers. The uni life is much better than the exmas, deadlines and lectures. But they are important so make sure you pick a course that you will be happy to study in depth for the next 3 years, as in my first year i made good friends with someone but they dropped out i feel this made her unconfident towards university and education.
I really do love It at the university of sheffield. Ddont be afraid to give new things a try at sheffield, there are so many opportunities to get involved in. The societies are great and the students union is a great place to socialise. There is so many things to do and enjoy in sheffield and in sheffield university. There is loads of clubs in sheffield, one to suit everyone and everyones types of nights out this was a nice surprise when i came to sheffield. In my opinion i would 100% recommend sheffield university to anyone! The course and lectures are good and if you come here you will get well acqainted with MOLE.
So far I have really enjoyed my time at university and one of the main positives about sheffield city is the night life. The quality of lectures are very good an I am really enjoying them. Biology at sheffield is a very interesting and challenging subject which if like me you have a passion for you will love too. The societies are ok but they do not meet up half as much as they make out however its useful to sign up to know about book sales. I would strongly recommend sheffield university to anyone.
Its sick! I love my friends, I love my course, I love the nights out and most of all I love the geography you have on your door step from y university. We have loads of charity events and the peak district is so close. I am a fan of the arctic monkeys and the arctic monkeys are from sheffield and i think its amazing that i can go to coffee shops in which they used to go. I am a fan of many areas within sheffield and within the university. The university is huge but sick! I would reccomend people to come check out sheffield and the university. Full f mixed people.
Be prepared to meet the best beer in the UK. University I thought would be all about hard working and working, but for me its 80% party 20% work. I do enjoy my course but I love the events they have on offer. Its not all just drinking alcohol the university puts on an array of entertainment especially at freshers there is constantly something to do. They also put on lots of different social events within the societies. Films, days out, walks, educational visits. It is really great...
I have loved being at university. I love the fact that I get to study a subject I know I enjoy and I can choose modules which interest me more. The more interested you are in something I think the harder you will work at it. At university you are able to meet people from all over the world and you are able to try new things not just at university but with your friends from all over the world. However living on your own for me for the first time can be daunting and alot more stressful than people say. My advice is dnt be afraid to ask for help if you need it or use the university help services if necessary and dont forget to most importantly have fun.
Univeristy is good. I like the city. My advise to any one thinking about going to university is to think about job prospects after, pick a course to get a job in however the good thing if the course is not what you first thought it was then you can change your course which i think is the best thing. Sheffield is a great city with many people from different backgrounds. I really recommend people thinking of university ot think of sheffield as a real option.
The student union is great. The facilities are what I would expect for the fees I am paying however saying this is what I would expect. I like halls but feel some of the furnishing are outdated however I do feel some halls are better than others but I think for the prices people are paying they should be super modern. Overall for the experince is good however for the future i do not know what it will hold. I thinkat A levels you are told to go into whatever it is you like but i fel here there is little careers guidance. Hwever saying that sheffield have career advice i just havent been! i recommend sheffield as the teaching leactures and seminars are great. People who i learn and work with are great too.
I am finding my course challenging but that is not the universitys fault its my own brain capacity. I really love my university and think that the course and lectures are fun and challenging. I think because of the nature of the subject I have taken I tend to spend more time in whilst my flat mates are out. However i do manage to get out and when i do i love it. Halls is expensive but i think its the cherry on the cake to the university experince and its great living without anyone to tell you what to do. My friends are all lovely and i soend half of my time in nexts doors flat because the atmosphere at university is such a good friendly one you can go anywhere and fit in and make friends. Sheffield is not the worlds best city however it caters for everything i need. I joined a tea drinking society that is how unique the societies are and im sure youll find one that suits you and this just means youll find more friends. The students union is good and lots of people spend alot of time there however i spend more time in librarys and in my halls. There is also lots of volunteering opportunities however finding one that will enhance your personal cv may be harder than you think.
The university is really good. It has well good lectures and the staff are so so helpful. Although some of them ignore your emails and it gets so frustrating because you are paying them to teach so you expect to be answered. However that is not all of them. I dont like the accomadation i have been placed with no one who studys the sae degree as me and they have a lot easier work load and mess around, party and ruin my sleep. Accomadation in my eyes is like a gamble. Tthe city is Ok. However i feel my career propsects have increased from going to thisunversity. The advice i would give to anyone thinking about going to unversity is be prepared to work hard! Tto do well is not easy.
I would deffinetly recommend anyone thinking about going to unversity to choose sheffield university. The best advice I can give is get invlved with everything sheffield university offers so much and there are hundreds of societys and some are free! I am loving the experince and find the unversity a really great choice in my life and im sure if you go to sheffield university you will not regret it! Apply today and visit our great students union and campus.

Sheffield is such a save and nice city, with friendly people from different countries. It's nightlife is awesome as the majority of the city is populated by students, great socials, easy to find a place to stay for a fair price, great culture and lots of opportunities to work and volunteer while you are …
