Good facilities. However the University is situated in the middle of the countryside and public transport is nonexistent, you definitively need a car.
The course is good.
Staying on campus is too expensive. The room is okay but the price is too high.

With it being a very Agricultural Uni, it is great to be around so many people that share common interests you, it really helps in getting to know new people. The campus is really great being out in the open, and having buildings so close together (compared to a city Uni) is super convenient it is not too far from the nearest town either, which allows for good shopping and nights out. The university could really improve by reducing prices for entry at events and the drinks supplied at them.
I am on placement at the moment, so cannot comment too much on the current teaching/ learning aspects on my course. However, my experiences in the 2020-2021 academic year were not good. There was a pandemic on which understandably caused a lot of lectures to be put online. However my course was sold to me as one where I would develop my practical skills, as well as my theoretical skills, but I felt like myself and other engineering students were not getting our moneys worth last year, since we had no time in the workshop and practical assignments were changed to theoretical. There has been no way in which we have been compensated for this properly.
The cost of living is good and fits in well with the student loan programmes, the public transport is good, and part time opportunities are available throughout the town. In terms of safety, getting from the town to university is too dangerous to do on foot due to no pathways to get there. Also, there is a growing threat from locals that are attacking students, which is happening more and more regularly. Students are often blamed for antisocial behaviour in the town, when a lot is caused by local people.
Location of the halls is ideal as they are on campus, and not far walking distance. The safety in the halls is good, as there are keyfob locks on the front doors, and personal locks for bedrooms. each 8 person flat has a door that is on a latch lock. this door can easily be opened with the use of a cutlery knife, allowing anyone in the building to enter.

Harper Adams is undeniably a largely agriculture-focused university, but you can tell that it is in the process of trying to diversify its courses and do more. The student life is quieter than a typical university due to a relatively small number of societies and the lack of any large towns or cities nearby, but the campus is beautiful (with plenty of opportunities to go on walks) and may be much more appealing than a city campus to those that prefer rural environments. The staff (both teaching and otherwise) are all extremely knowledgeable, kind and friendly, and there is definitely a friendly atmosphere on campus. In my experience on the Zoology with Entomology course so far many modules are adapted from existing modules on other courses (with the first ever generation of zoology students being set to complete their course in 2022), but the lecturers still make the subjects engaging and link them to zoology wherever they can. Facilities such as the library and laboratories are all excellent.
Undeniably the best aspect of the course is the teaching staff/lecturers, who are all extremely knowledgeable, passionate and friendly. From my perspective as a student on one of the non-agricultural courses my biggest problem with Harper Adams is the agricultural focus that sometimes sneaks into non-agriculture courses, but where this does happen lecturers always work to link the topics to our subject of interest.
Friends in some other accommodation blocks (particularly in the older buildings) have expressed some dissatisfaction with their accommodation, but I have found the Jerman accommodation building to be extremely comfortable.

The teaching is second to none. The lecturers are always on hand to answer any questions and truly care about your education.
The course is taught in a practical manner both in terms of being able to access workshop and labs but also the course content which is tailored to produce industry ready engineers.
The uni is in a country location which is great however a car is pretty much essential however it is totally doable to come to harper without a car.
The halls are totally functional but could do with an update. The uni management are pretty good at sorting out any issues that went wrong.

Awesome facilities and its great studying with friends and like minded people. The student union is a great place for events however drinks can be over priced and the security is too strict - people get kicked out for silly reasons!
Now that Covid isn't as much of a concern we have 100% in person lectures and tutorials with lectures still available online if unable to attend or ill. This is great because we are able to engage fully in the course as well as making new friends in the in person lectures. Teaching is engaging and lecturers enthusiastic.
Good value for money with meals 3x daily included as well as the room for the year. Need a car ideally to get to town and back but great location on campus, easy to access all areas.

The fact we are a bit of of town makes the nightlife not as great with there also being one club. However, great overall feel- all my visitors say this uni is better than all the others such as Brookes, Cardiff, etc.
In person learning is so much better than online. Which we experience, so all good
Thank you for your feedback
It teaches the course that I wanted to do and I have made some close friends A lot of the societies drink
I'm on a placement year which I am thoroughly enjoying It was extremely hard to find a placement

Harper is such a different uni to your big standard city unis. Everyone knows everyone it’s a super nice community feel, regardless of whether you have a farming background or not
Facilities are brilliant, having our own farm and labs to learn the practical side of lectures. A small uni means contact time with lecturers is excellent, and I’ve yet to meet one who isn’t keen to help you succeed

Harper Adams is a lovely campus to be based on but is very rural. Lots of animals on site and great facilities for the nursing students especially with the newly built Vet building. Student union has varied from year to year, but having only my first year as a 'normal' year (without covid) I would say there is definitely room for improvement! Lacking variety of themes for Wednesday nights and over promising is something that has been regular over the past 4 years at Harper.
I absolutely love the course. I think the placement year has been beneficial and it offers great jobs at the end of it. First and second year was faultless. Despite having Covid impact my 2nd year I continued to have great support from my lecturers. However, this year (4th year) I have found generally very boring and not much content. I don't feel I've learnt anything from 4th year which has negatively affected my overall experience at Harper Adams. I do hope the modules will change for future students and end of year feedback will be taken on board.
