What will this degree entail? This course will be based on scientific principles of biology and physiology of animals to understand the mechanisms behind their health and diseases. During the course you will study a variety of subject disciplines, including basic animal health related topics such as nutrition, biotechnology, microbiology, disease sciences and disease control strategies. In addition, you will focus on the global animal health industry, understanding the emergence and transmission of animal diseases, their risk to other animals and humans. You will spend time in our state-of-the-art teaching laboratories, on-campus farm and companion animal house applying skills whilst gaining subject specific knowledge in classroom-based studies. The course will also introduce business management of relevance to working within animal related industries. As with other Harper Adams University degrees, a key feature of this course is a placement year where you will get an opportunity to work in an industry of your choice, enabling you to put knowledge into practice, develop your network and discover your future ambitions.
