It is a small campus which makes it amazing, you walk around and see people you know. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The staff are fantastic, they are approachable and supportive with your learning experience. They have a good mental health outlook and have a supportive student advice area.

Primary Education with QTS BA (Hons)

Bishop Grosseteste University is set on a beautiful campus with plenty of lovely green spaces to feel connected with nature during your studies. Lecturers make a real effort to support and understand the students, encouraging us to use these calming green spaces during our comfort breaks from sessions. The sessions are informative and engaging, a foundational base of theory and practise to ensure all Primary Education students are beyond adequately prepared for the teaching placements. Our Vice President of the SU is always available to have a chat about your course, another avenue to access support than contacting lecturers and session providers. Whilst pastoral support is exceptional, it must be understood that some of the facilities onsite are becoming quite dated. The buildings may be old but they are historic; deep-seated in the rich past of the university (originally established in 1862). That being said, best efforts are in place to improve these facilities where ever possible. There is a modern library with resources second to none for any studies leading into the education sector and the technology/IT on campus is brilliant. I have often used the 24 hour study suite to work. Bishop Grosseteste University is fantastic, I am loving my time here. If you wanted a university to have a homely and comforting feel, this is the place to be!

The level of support is second to none - all staff are enablers; they want students to succeed and that is a palpable feel across the institution. The new accommodation is brilliant in terms of location, security and facilities. As a smaller university, you really get that personal touch. Cannot recommend BGU highly enough and really wish my 17 year old self had applied there for undergraduate study.

Primary Education with QTS BA (Hons)

Positives: It is a great place to study as it fosters a welcoming environment where all students can feel accepted. There is a wide range of societies, social communities and volunteer programs this has helped me develop my teamwork skills in more depth and also my time management skills outside the classroom. The university offers a wide range of courses and my primary education course has offered myself some amazing opportunities which have prepared me ready for the classroom. One improvement that could be made is making a little more space for students to study and do their work this furthermore enables for further communication and accessible to study time outside of lectures.

BGU has been the perfect uni for me. With its small and quiet campus, I not only feel at home, but also well supported and looked out for. I always feel supported at BGU, whether that be with my academic studies, accommodation, or my wellbeing. The small campus at BGU has meant I have got to know my lecturers and the campus very well. I particularly like that the campus has multiple different places to study, despite being small.
