Primary Education with QTS BA (Hons)

University rating (5)

I love how BG is a small campus and university, it gives a community feel to student life and is a lot less daunting they going to a bigger university. Its location is great as it’s not far from the city centre or the local shops. Student support is great and a lot of what happened with societies/clubs and the student union is done by students for students which again builds up community and ensures more people’s voices are heard. I think that a course reps should be updated a bit, not everyone knows who they are on their course, what they do and how to contact them even though they represent to cohort. The facilities are great and have been updated/upgraded in the last decade but because it’s such a small university we don’t have as big a sports centre or lecture theatres.

In my opinion, BGU is a good university. My mentor has been really supportive and helpful. As an international student I really appreciate the environment she has created for our PGCE group as everyone can express their views and feel respected.

Accommodating and supportive staff, easy to access anything you need and my course works around my job. Could be improved by having easier access to reading resources

BGU is such a good place to study. I am impressed with the facilities in place, the facilities are there to ensure the student's academic, physical, and emotional wellbeing are catered for. In terms of catering for the academic wellbeing of the student and ensuring the student's academic success, BGU provided a well equipped library, both a physical library and an e-library which makes it possible for you to access the library from anywhere and at any time. BGU also has wonderful instructors - they believe in the uniqueness of each student, teach in such way to ensure complete understanding of the modules and and are always available to provide one to one support. BGU also has a learning development centre which has the role of assisting the students in their academic journey to ensure academic success. In terms of the physical wellbeing, BGU has GYM with free membership for students. BGU also has a football team, a cricket team and so on. So these facilities are there to ensure the physical fitness of the students. In terms of the emotional well being, BGU has counsellors that you can talk to about any issues bothering you from financial issues, emotional problems, social problems and so on. The area of improvement should be in the area of tuition fees payment plan. They need to have a more flexible tuition fees payment plan, and be less rigid in that regard. Those are my thoughts. Thank you.

A smaller campus in comparison, which allows for more focus per student and easier to gain support. Great for resources, such as the library, study areas, CELT and tutors. Lessons however can sometimes be heavy on with content knowledge
