It's very unique, as it's an animal-based university, and it has facilities you wouldn't see elsewhere, such as water treadmills. If I were to improve anything, it would be the support for students after the first year, as I do not feel as supported as I did last year.
The Best: The university offers many opportunities for students. The Worst: the university does not listen to the requests of students who have paid for their education but want to change a small aspect that the university could change but does not want to.
I don’t have much to say yet due to only just about starting week 6; it seems positive so far.
Best aspects of the uni are: - the support given to students - the new facilities such as equipments for students Worst aspects are - many students are seen smoking in area forbidden to smoke yet not staff members take action regarding this
For improvements I believe when student needs to contact their tutors or anyone else on campus it’s very difficult to communicate when need help or support with academic matters
Good!
ARU offers me the flexibility to study from home, which is a great advantage, as I can study at my own pace and time. The support from tutors and other members of staff is amazing, as they are very welcoming and ready to answer any questions that you have. There are also opportunities to better your digital skills through workshops and online classes to help you understand how to use technology to your advantage as well as how to accomplish your assignments and presentations in a professional manner. To add to that, they have regular drop-in sessions where you can speak with your tutors and ask them module-specific questions and interact with your fellow students to discuss and share ideas about the content that you are all learning. When it comes to interactions with your classmates, there are study groups assigned where you can support each other's learning and examine the module content.
Worst aspects is parking. Best aspects is the learning facillities
My main downsides are room changes as we’re having to back and forth with tapping in the original room and then going to the room we’re actually in. Also getting to uni on time but this is more due to the train times and having a short window to walk from the station which leads to paying for a taxi to make it in time.
The library is a great assest and its peaceful. In the class rooms its always too muxh people
Very diverse and accepting uni, always someone around to help or answer any questions. Lecturers are some of the friendliest I’ve ever met
The best would be the people. Everyone is very helpful and kind. The worst would be me having to commute from london it is a bit long

POSITIVES : - The university is situated just off from the city centre, this is a fantastic place for it to be. It’s really convenient. - The university is very large which is good as they always have events going on for students - The library facilities are great, they have a good online library and the actual library itself is huge. - The facilities are clean and the building architecture is well designed NEGATIVES : - Canvas ( student software) is a little tricky to use. There needed to be a lesson on how to use it and where to find stuff - The submission formats need improving, for example canvas does not accept PDF formats or Google docs links - The student union needs to have a bit more of a communal area. Most other universities have an on site bar in which ARU would benefit from I believe. Overall a very good university!!
First I would say that the university faculty are really so nice and polite; they always deal and guide in a very good manner and properly. And I’m able to manage my tasks effectively and deliver results on time due to the professors; they teach us very well. The building of the university is very cosy. Besides this, I would say that the university needs to change the venue of their graduation ceremony hall… I’m a first-year student but I saw the graduation ceremony’s venue for my seniors; it doesn’t looks so ideal… I think it should be, like, historic, giving off royal vibes… students will definitely like it most.
Sports is not really supported by the uni.
More events in the university will be nice
Brilliant university, so helpful, staff are all brilliant, excellent library and online services.
Freedom to explore: Whether it’s diving into niche subjects or discovering new parts of yourself, uni is often the first real taste of independence. - Friendships that stick: Some of the most enduring bonds are forged over shared stress, laughter, and caffeine-fuelled cramming. - Personal growth: You’re constantly challenged—academically, socially, emotionally. It’s a crash course in becoming who you are. - Opportunities galore: Societies, internships, study abroad, research projects—if you’re game, uni can be a launchpad. Worst aspects (the less glamorous side): - Financial strain: Between tuition fees, rent, and living costs, money stress is real and relentless. - Academic pressure: Deadlines, exams, imposter syndrome—it can feel like a never-ending treadmill. - Loneliness: Despite being surrounded by people, many students struggle with isolation, especially in the first year. - Uncertainty: The looming “what next?” after graduation can be daunting, especially in a competitive job market.

Everyone is super friendly. The facilities are ok but when something breaks it may take months to fix. Even something as simple as the kettle not working takes ages to sort. But the staff and students are truly the friendliest people I’ve ever met.
The course has extreme highs and lows, no inbetween. Some lectures are so fun and informative, they’re seriously interesting. And others are such a chore to get through. It entirely depends on who is teaching you.
Often things break and they take weeks to fix. But the safety and sense of community is unmatched in anywhere I’ve ever lived before. Regular game nights in the kitchen and pre parties in people’s rooms make this hall more than bearable. The people are really who make this a brilliant building to live in.
