i've had the happiest first term in Bangor not too small and not too big of a city! Ive joined so many societes and they fit in really well with me and my course! Great accomidation and neighbours!

Bangor University is extremely inclusive and supportive of diversity. Being a mature student, and a transgendered man, returning to education was certainly an intimidating concept, however, the staff at the University have been absolutely fabulous. I have felt extremely welcomed. As a carer for my Mother, I found it particularly tough during Covid, as my level of caring increased two fold. The University were so supportive during this period, they even supplied financial assistance through means of grant. This made such a difference . More recently, I have been diagnosed with severe Dyslexia. Finding this out as an Adult has been overwhelming. The University has once again, provided unwavering support giving access to the Dyslexic support services and team. This has allowed me to continue to get the best out of the education I am receiving. Life can be tough, but it shouldn't ever become a barrier to receiving quality education. Without Bangor Universities encouragement and support I know I would never have got this far. I hope they get the recognition they so truly deserve.

I have found the online learning platform excellent. It offers the flexibility I require as a home carer for my Mother. I can attend classes live, when this is not possible, I can access the recording at a time that is more convenient. The standard of education I received to date had been very high. There is a huge volume of reading material to get through but I guess that is standard when doing a Masters.
