The surrounding areas of the university and some of the older buildings are ugly and make me feel very unsafe. But if you are actually on campus is beautiful, especially cadman and catalyst. Night life needs more work, LRV is boring after a few weeks

Most of my lecturers reply within a day. One takes at least two. Course needs to help us more with software like substance designer. And fusion 360 isn’t industry standard, so idk why we were taught it outside of it being fun and kinda useful for other things

I never feel safe walking in stoke. I get cat called more than I ever have and there is constant crime around me and I’ve been warned by so many people not to do certain things. There was a stabbing outside my window ffs. It’s terrifying

Shaun, Nathan, Maggie are incredible and if it wasn’t for the, I wouldn’t have stayed for two years. However, I think the price is a little too high unfortunately. I love it there but I cannot afford it. Also the walk up the hill can be quite annoying sometimes but it’s nice being away from everything I feel very safe in college court, i know the security guards will do everything to stop people getting in. They even offer help to us in times of need which is extremely helpful and appreciated

The campus is in a good location with it being right next to the train station and not too far from the city centre, but other than that there's not much to do nearby if you have lots of breaks between classes. There's quite a few places on campus for you to get food, and they do have a student bar and club that hold events, but if you're a commuter you may be waiting around for a long time. There are places that you can book out rooms to study, but most people end up just finding a classroom and doing work there. The Epic Games studio in the Cadman building is essentially just a big classroom with nicer chairs, so it's not as exciting as people assume. Overall it's not the best place in terms of campus, but they do have a lot of connections to industry and the teaching in my experience is not too bad.

They do teach a lot of really important content in terms of getting you into industry and not just learning the skills, and they hold a few game jams to get peoples portfolio's filled in. The modules (at least for first year) are varied but still come together at points to build off your knowledge from other classes. They have a lot of connections to the industry and always push you to go to a placement for your own benefit. The lectures are good for uni standards and it's always in person, but the seminars usually feel very pointless unless you have an issue you're stuck on. The lecturers typically get back to you pretty quickly if you email them, but it depends on which lecturer you email, but other than the industry connections they offer there aren't really any facilities
