The Catalyst makes it a great place to study because it's basically a massive commute area and a big library in one building. It's really good for studying with friends or groups from classes or if you want to have a bit of time studying by yourself in the peace and quiet, hopefully.

My course, AI (Artificial Intelligence), is really good and fun to learn because of how the teachers are. They are very helpful and take time to help me and others in the class. And the course is genuinely fun to learn because AI is in the world now and will continue to be in the world for many future years (probably for the rest of our lives) so getting a chance to study on what's going on in real life is definitely hard but worth it in the end.

Lectures are passionate about the delivery of the course and they are supportive. All academics on the Forensic Science course are approachable, easy to talk to and proactive with any issues we have as a cohort. The course director is always available to assist wherever required, he is a credit to the University. The majority of the campus buildings are modern and up to date with technology and facilities. However, the Ashley 1 and 2 buildings feel dated and does not match the standards of the other buildings. In Ashley the heating is always on and can't be turned off, the windows do not open properly/stay open and the lighting is very artificial. Improving older buildings on campus would create cohesion in terms of overall appearance, usage and facilities.

Our course is delivered in class, and sometimes online in rare circumstances where they are rail strikes. The quality of teaching is excellent, the lectures encourage open discussions and questions throughout our sessions. As a cohort we are constantly reminded about booking AST, if we are unsure of content, require feedback on assessments/submissions or need guidance with exam preparation for example. Being reminded about AST encourages me to use the service more as I know the lectures care about my learning and progression. AST in the forensic science course is amazing, lectures will go above and beyond to ensure you have understood the content you needed help with. I have raised increasing the contact hours with the course director for our Forensic Biology module, he is proactive is sorting this and has informed me of his actions regarding this going forward. We have also discussed creating a Level 5 student showcase at the end of the year, to provide the Level 4's with an insight into the work they will produce the following year.
