Studying psychiatry

If you want to know what makes people behave the way they do, what causes different behaviours and how the human mind works, psychiatry might be the field for you. You’ll learn about childhood development, about different disorders people might experience and topics like grief and trauma. There are lots of opportunities for postgraduate study in psychiatry or psychology if that appeals to you! Careers common for students with a psychiatry degree include psychiatric nurse, psychiatric consultant, early years psychiatrist and crisis and assessment nurse. You may need to complete additional training or studies for these roles.
