Swansea supports its students really well, they’ve helped me get DSA and allowances, there’s academic support, personal, finance etc Bay campus looks really nice, best part is the student union space Y Tywni for between lectures Only bad thing is bay campus is a bit out the way and the buses are sometimes useless.

I like the blended learning options but mostly in person now. Decent modules and course co-ordinator is in top of sorting issues and getting feedback. Kinda overloaded with work for 3 year is only complaint

Bit expensive but very nice rooms with en-suite and weekly cleaner for communal areas. Maintenance issues were sorted asap

The biggest difference there is between Swansea Uni and any other University is the Bay Campus located by the beach, making it very unique. The view from some lecture rooms is unbeatable. Bay Campus facilities and accommodation are also new and modern, as the campus was built just a couple of years ago. The staff is usually very helpful and you can feel that they genuinely care about students' experience and want to listen and make positive changes based on the feedback, which I really appreciate. Most of the modules are engaging and interesting, and most of the professors are very kind and helpful. Swansea University offers a wide range of possibilities, students can get involved by becoming an academic rep, student ambassador, peer mentor, etc. There are exchanges, traveling opportunities whether that be volunteering or summer exchanges, and the employability team is really supportive when trying to find a placement or an internship. Moreover, Swansea is a relatively cheap place, which makes it a perfect city for students, at least from the financial perspective. The one disadvantage I can think of is that some of the modules are not taught very well, or are not planned properly, however as far as I know the modules' content and structure are being revised and changed continuously. Students can give feedback for each module at the end of the semester to suggest some improvements. Another disadvantage is the transportation in the city which is extremely unreliable. It does not depend on the university, however, it does affect the student experience quite a lot.

I started my course during Covid times and I think Swansea University did a great job providing online classes. In my second year we had hybrid lectures which in my opinion was also working quite well, and this year we are fully back on campus. Most of the lectures are still recorded, making it possible for students that couldn't make it to the class, however not all professors record their lectures, which I think could be improved. Biomedical Engineering has relatively many hours per week compared to most other courses, but it is still possible to fit a part time job or extracurriculars in the schedule. All lecturers have an office hour, when we can chat to them about the assignments or module content and ask any questions we may have. Many of them are also willing to stay after class to explain lecture's content if necessary. Most lecturers respond to emails fairly quickly, I was barely ever left with no response, however, sometimes it does happen.
