I am really enjoying studying at Swansea University. Life on campus is fun, the nightlife is good and amenities like the beach are a real bonus. I am disappointed with the amount of contact hours I have and I do not feel stretched and challenged in my course. However, I am only in term 1 of year 1 so I'm sure this will change as my degree progresses.

Facilities at the university are good. The gym on Bay is small but the gym on Singleton is much bigger (although membership for both is costly). The university is also home to the national pool of Wales (a 50m pool) which is a great facility that we have access to. The laundry facilities are convenient but expensive and can be busy. We can request access to 24hr music practice rooms on Bay and Singleton which are free- this is unusual as in most universities you have to pay for facilities like this.

My academic tutor is very supportive as are my lecturers. Luckily, I have not had very much experience with the personal student support teams.

The students' union is well represented on both campuses although living on Bay means that I have less access to resources than other students. The facilities are good and the SU bar and club are good.

I live on the campus that I study at so my lectures and seminars are very close to my accommodation. In terms of local amenities, the beach is very close and there is a small tesco express on campus. It is quite a way into town and to any bigger shops though which is a shame.

There are a whole host of societies and sports teams available. Most societies appear to be very inclusive and cheap.

Most: lectures seem to be specialists in their field and a reading list is required for each module. Least: lectures are not splt into ability groups (for example maths module lectures). Also, seminars are taught by PhD students.

Although I have only been at Swansea University for a few weeks, I have already been given lots of opportunities to further my experience outside of my studies. The university has a university wide employability team which all students have access to- but the my department (The School Of Management) has its own personal team which is a real luxury. I have already attended talks on summer placements and the year in industry.

Although it is quite expensive, my accommodation is very modern and well equipped. Campus is safe and located in close proximity to town and right next to the beach. The overall condition is good although there have been some maintenance issues (which have been solved fairly quickly by the maintenance team). There are 10 people living in my flat and although the kitchen is spacious, there is a distinct lack of cupboard/fridge/freezer space.

Staff offer loads of support in all areas, there is always someone you can talk to about anything that is an issue. Some buildings could use work on the outside but the facilities are new on the inside.

Have lots of contact hours including workshops, tutorials, placements and in uni placements to consolidate knowledge
