I really love Swansea as a place to live and study. Heres my personal pro's and cons list ;) PROS: Great teaching on my course - friendly lecturers who are very approachable and bother to learn your name. Great teaching facilities - equipment has all been up-to-date and well maintained. Nice learning environment. Awesome nightlife in the city Great local area with lots of fantastic beaches and countryside to enjoy nearby. Spoilt for choice with accomodation, Singleton Campus and HSV being the cheapest but Bay Campus has premium rooms too. Also plenty of private accomodation providers in the city. Generally a very reasonable and inexpensive place to live, especially when compared to other student cities. Lots of awesome sports clubs and societies to get involved with. Plenty of surfing beaches nearby - a personal favorite. Decent transport links with buses around the city and to/from campus. Train station in the city centre. CONS: Food/drink facilities on campus are a bit lacking. (I understand the uni is working to improve this) Student union club (Tooters) is currently closed for refurbishment. Covid-19 restrictions means teaching is affected with most lectures being online. Practical sessions and workshops are in person. Could do with investing a bit more into student common spaces on campus. Best advice I could give to any prospective student would be to come for an open day visit - it will provide you with far better information and insight!

Currently with Covid-19 restrictions, the majority of teaching is online. Pratical sessions and workshops are held in person. Lecturers on the course are great. Friendly and approachable. Course size is aroud 50 students, which is quite good compared to other courses, so everyone ends up getting to know each other which creates a great environment.

Great nightlife not just on Wind Street but throughout the city. Loads of great beaches nearby, awesome for surfing and exploring. Lots of outside space. Buses can sometimes be unreliable - but I believe this is a national issue? Cost of living is fantastic, very very reasonable compared to other university cities. Generally feels very safe with police officers around and about the city centre on Saturdays and student nights.

Excellent value for money - cosy bedroom (single bed) with everything you need, shared kitchen and bathroom. Flats of 7 people with two toilets and two showers. Location is off campus -10 minutes on the bus to get there. The university provides students with a free bus pass which is a nice addition. No idea how they allocate rooms but single sex and quiet flats are avaliable. Estates team are a friendly bunch - they come out quickly to fix any problems. Internet is eduroam, generally very good in my experience. Lots of outside space and grassy areas. Proper opening windows! A nice addition. Not the horrible hotel style ones that only open an inch.
