Swansea university's location on the beach is unmatched. For someone with a love for all things watersports and outdoors it doesn't get better than swansea. I spend my weeks windsurfing, paddleboarding, hiking in the Brecon Beacons, exploring the gower, wild swimming. I love that swansea fosters my kind of life style and attracts so many like minded people with my interests. I love the community in swansea and the student support has been incredibly both in mental health and in academic life. Swansea's buildings are quite dated on singleton campus but this should be overlooked for the incredible life and community it can offer you.

My course took a bit of time to get going. First year was given over to teaching the fundamentals which was a little boring to begin with. However once I started tailoring my degree to my interests in my second and third years I loved every module I studied. My joint honours gives me so much depth of understanding cross English language studies and offers the freedom to study what interests me. My lecturers are incredible. They are so supportive of me pursing English language studies as a dyslexic and are always willing to give me their time in their office hours. My personal tutor has been amazing supporting me through my studies and giving me confidence in myself and my future career as I prepare to leave swansea. I wish literature has 3 hours of taught time in my final year rather than 2 and that my assignments were more spaced out rather than having 3 within one week. Which as a dyslexic is really difficult to maintain standards for. However the extenuating circumstance team have been so understanding in supporting my disability and have enabled me to complete my degree to a standard I am proud of.

Seren's location had good location for busses and trains but is a long was from singleton or bay campus to engage in student life as a freshers. The rooms are well maintained and modern. The double bed was a real bonus as a tall person. The bike store was very secure and allowed me to save money travelling to university along the beach each day. The price is very reasonable for what you get particularly compared to singleton campus.
