The support and advice from lecturers is the best around, you couldn’t ask for a better set of staff to support you in your Nursing Degree, I’ve managed to excel during my course because of this. Maybe offering more food stalls and a greater options for food whilst on campus.

The course encouraged self directed study which is a good for researching and developing your knowledge of a chosen topic of interest. The course hours enabled time for placements, independent study and practical hours alongside university lectures which was well balanced!!

Overall, I love studying at Northumbria University because you can get all the support you need for your assignments and lecturers are amazing at this. I love studying at the library and I think the campus is great. The staff are really friendly and proactive however I feel like students who do health, education and social work should also attend their lectures and seminars at city campus since coach lane is quite far and takes quite a while to get there. For me personally, it takes about 40 - 50 mins to get to coach lane campus which results in me being late sometimes since there can be traffic and sometimes buses don’t usually come on time.

Overall, I think the course is great because we gain so much knowledge which supports us with our exams and assignments. We do different types of placements throughout our course which helps us to gain our fundamental nursing skills . On the other hand, I feel we should do more of preparing iV’s, doing medication rounds and taking bloods from 1st year and not just doing personal care all the time because it will help nursing students to be more prepared for when we qualify and make us more confident in our job.
