What’s great so far: I’ve really appreciated the supportive learning environment at the university. The facilities, particularly the library and online learning resources, have been very helpful in supporting independent study. As a healthcare student, I value access to quiet study spaces and reliable digital databases, which have made academic research more manageable. The campus atmosphere feels welcoming and diverse, and I’ve found staff to be approachable and supportive when guidance is needed. The Students’ Union also does a good job of creating opportunities for social connection and student engagement. It would be great to see more creative and supportive student events throughout the year — not just academically focused activities, but more fun, interactive, and wellbeing-centred events. Opportunities for students to relax, connect, and engage in playful or creative activities would really enhance the overall university experience. A stronger balance between academic rigour and enjoyable social engagement could help students feel more supported holistically.

The strongest part of my course is definitely the teaching team. The lecturers and programme lead are incredibly supportive and clearly committed to student learning. They go out of their way to ensure teaching is delivered effectively and that we genuinely understand the material. I really enjoy the lecture times, and it’s evident that the staff care about both our academic progress and overall development. The support and dedication from the lecturers make a significant positive difference to the course experience. One area that could be improved is the allocation and quality of classroom spaces. Some of the rooms assigned to our cohort feel cold, cramped, or less frequently used, which affects the overall learning atmosphere. In particular, certain modules are delivered in spaces that feel quite tight for the number of students attending. A more comfortable, appropriately sized, and well-maintained learning environment would greatly enhance the overall experience and reflect the quality of teaching being delivered.

Great course and great lecturers. Improvements could be to upgrade the clinical skills building and improve quality of lecture’s to make it worthwhile to attend.

I like the in class learning however I believe it would benefit from being blended with online learning as some lecturers are not worth travelling up to an hour for. As lots of the students are mature it would help lots with money and childcare.
