It’s so close to the city and easily accessible from and to all areas of Belfast. It’s such a beautiful campus and I always feel so privileged to walk through it. However, I feel that the student support could be improved. There’s a stigma that Queen’s don’t really care about their students and that doesn’t come from no where. There’s definitely a heavy focus on doing well and getting the best results regardless of the students wellbeing and mental health. Going to university is a massive thing and a little more help would go a long way.

I’m not necessarily in class more than other students in other courses, but the independent reading outside of my course is something that drowns me. I’ve a lot of work to do outside of the essentials and sometimes it can get a bit much. If the reading was subsidised a little it would definitely help.

It is very very expensive for what you get. It’s either really cold or really warm - nothing in between. Yes, there’s 24/7 security but anyone can get through if they have a university ID and key fob then they can get through. The office staff are nice but some are so rude and just don’t want to deal with you. I met the best people there though and I would do it all again to meet the life long friends I’ve found.

The majority of campus is kept modern, the SU building is under 2 years old and the over 100 year old geography building has a modern lecture theater, while older theaters such as those in the David Keir Building are updated to current technology where possible. Belfast is a great student city in Northern Ireland, with the QUB campus being roughly a 20 minute walk from city center. The uni could however have a more accessible website, much of the information is difficult to get, out of date, or the format of the site looks rather 90's

5 hours of in-person lectures on core modules and an hour tutorial session every 3 weeks or so, with lecture slides uploaded online afterwards. Chosen additional modules vary in teaching by the specific school. Very few lectures however are recorded, with little opportunity to view them after the in-person one.
