The best experience are the extra activities provided by the University such as Networking Events and Speakers from different companies coming in. This way we’re able to Network with people within the sectore which is very important once we’ve finished our degree. Also, considering the location of the university it is easy to be able to spend some quality time with fellow students around the area. One way it could be improved is to make societies a little more engaging and active.
Good support from staff
Great location no social life and most people leave
The small year groups of around 100 students make learning really personal and easy to get the help you need. This also allows our views to be listened to on how the uni can be adapted to suit our needs. Great for people who love to live at home and want to commute into London but there is not official LIBF accommodation so if you’re from further away you have to be prepared to find a place to live at London prices. -
The best aspects about my university are that it is small but has a great community feel. With being a very small university it is great for building relationships with other students and lecturers. The classes are small so you can bond with your lecturer and can always ask questions throughout seminars. The facilities are great with a brilliant student area/common room to relax in between lecturers and seminars and further build friendships. There is only one thing that I would possibly improve and that is the organisation of timetables given out. Exam timetables and dates could be given out via email so it is a bit easier for students to see however this is only a very small negative.
The people are nice and staff are friendly. Shame there’s no accommodations provided.
Advantages of LIBF: Great assistance from the careers team and third years provides good networking events and advice, it is a model of a specialist school. Has a very supportive students' union (especially Jay - he is incredibly helpful). Downside of LIBF experience = has facilities that can be used by students but not enough; would be nice if there were more events to contribute to student life.
Its great as its a small uni which means that people get to know the lecturers each individually and by name, we are actually treated as a person here. it is also in the heart of London with a great view on the thames which is so nice to see. We also get free hot drinks at our disposal which helps save so much money! The lesson structure is good as the seminar and lectures have fixed times on fixed days so you can plan ahead. All staff members are kind and always eager and willing to help if you need and the lecturers always go above to help if you need for a chance to excel. Improvements are minimal, early starts some days but that's standard, also the space sometimes when we are in the basement, 'chill out' area, other than that it is perfect :)).
The London Institute of Banking and Finance is a small tight knit community to study in, where you can get help from your lecturers and tutors promptly. It is great to get to know your lecturers and vice versa on a first name basis, providing a more direct and personal teacher/student relationship. One area in which it could improve is by providing students with more areas to study in.
The uni is great for an insight into the world of Banking & Finance in the city. The uni has amazing connections to industry and the careers support is first class. However the university feels more like a college and doesn’t offer the full university experience. The teaching is great which is reflected in the grades the uni recieves.

Tailored speakers from the field speak on topics directly related to the course. Lack of feedback. Small places to study
The best aspects of the university are: - outstanding facilities - fantastic location - phenomenal careers services - access to previous alumni and industry leaders - great networking events - amazing lecturers and student support Worst aspects of the university are: - inconsistency in some of the teaching methods - inconsistency in exam structure - marking is not done anonymously
Smaller sized uni so it feels more personal better help in seminars as well as the experience everyone has in helping with any banking aspect One thing I do not like is the cost of travelling into London as well the journey time, cost of travel stops me from attending extra events due to the cost and time it takes to get there and back.
Coming to London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF) was the best decision I made. LIBF is more than an academic university, it’s a place for everybody to learn, grow, and thrive. By all means a professional body, CFA Affiliated, an unique and bold attraction for students, who wish to own their career journey, and hence give it purposeful meaning. Yet a friendly welcoming smile you read on the faces of professors and staff, who are keen to leave an impact on our journey. Here - entrepreneurial minds are developed and challenged to grow. London Institute of Banking and Finance one of the world’s liveliest capitals in a campus thrilling in London’s financial hub, allows students to have doors open for rewarding and exciting careers such as consulting, investment banking, asset management, and many more. Not to forget to mention the supportive career service, available for 1 to 1 feedback, CV and interview preparation along with the life-long relationships students build with the wonderful mentors while being trained for a thriving career ahead. The best part about feedback is if it gets incorporated, and at LIBF the student support team together with everyone around are doing their best to accommodate the students’ needs and also staying on top with innovative technologies such as the lovely PCs from the Library at Peninsular House giving LIBF a niche edge. It’s also my favourite place to study! We’ve had quite a few improvements to our academic and social development system where now even more support is placed on the mental health and the challenges of being a university student. Learning about how to manage our finances and time management has been crucial. I feel safe and always welcomed here, yet most importantly I feel heard and grateful to the support system around me. At the moment we are looking into how can we expand students’ voices even further, we have regular meetings to discuss the learning environment and to make sure we are all together striving for diverse prosperous careers in the world of banking and finance. The podcasts, news and benefits that the university accommodates us with are exactly what we need. I am thrilled to have discovered that the most important decisions we make in life can be so rewarding, stimulating and future promising. I cannot finish without mentioning the Bake Sale Week for the Earthquake Relief Initiative on the 7th Floor of Peninsular House, for a great cause and support to my LIBF peers and community that are personally affected by this tragedy. Empathy and understanding here shines and in my opinion LIBF is a leading example to what an excellent university - who has the hearts of its students at its centre - is all about! Sincerely, Djulia Ciochina 2nd Year FIR LIBF Student
Professionalism. Networking events
Great for careers and niche subject options, location is great and uni is extremely personable with vastly experienced lecturers in their respective field. Feedback for assessments was slow and generic
Since the Institute is quiet small, better learning environments for students as we have a good interaction with the lecturers.
Niche networking opportunities Lecturers expert knowledge Questions are encouraged Assignments are interesting
One of the best aspects about this university is that it’s not a huge university therefore everyone knows each other and we actually get to know the teacher more. In addition, the best aspect for me is the networking events it allows us to improve on social skills and we get information and knowledge for people who have experience within the banking/finance industry. LIBF is definitely good if people want a shot at the banking and finance industry and definitely want a career and this university will help you in achieving that.

One benefit is that you get a more personal experience with your lecturers in lectures and seminars as the group size is smaller and more focused than other unis
There is a good consistency with lectures and seminars, making it easier to plan your life around uni
