The University of Suffolk has a great support network in place and really seem to care about the mental health of students. They are quick to adapt, for example during the Covid-19 pandemic, no teaching and learning has been missed and the amount of support still available online was very good. My only point for improvement would be better seating in some of the seminar rooms in the waterfront building, as the chairs aren’t the comfiest!

Communication is very good here. It’s very easy to talk to everyone, lecturers and staff included. Parking isn’t very good. There’s lots of it but it’s so expensive for students, especially those who can’t work while they study but need a car for placement.

Despite its lack of prestige, this university is filled with staff that are kind, accommodating and interested in your progression. The main campus is on the waterfront which is in the prettiest part of Ipswich with water views. Student life is ok, there is only one club which isn't the nicest but there are several bars.

Overall area doesn't have much student life. No real clubs or student night life

I have really enjoyed my university experience so far! The Student's Union have run lots of events which I have enjoyed attending, including a short introductory course in British Sign Language (which was free). I like the teaching style at University of Suffolk and have really found the block learning approach to modules helpful as it means you only have to focus on one module at a time.
Being impacted by Covid it was hard to access support from mental health advisors due to lack of resources. Reform is needed. Block learning doesn't suit everyone specially with disabilities . SU can't deal with delicate matter for example, SFE FUNDS or appeals. Learning skill advisors are supportive and 1:1 is brilliant. The university is located with a panoramic view on the waterfront.

Good university - adapted well to COVID-19 restrictions and online learning was done to a good extent. What could be improved is their support for apprentices and their other commitments (their job) is fairly limited though, so there’s some drawbacks. Good campus facilities too.

More events throughout the year, wished we had used the diagnostic room in atrium building before we went on placement but new Health and sports building will be great for all students next year. Love the library facilities

Can not rate this university highly enough. The students support available is second to none. The location is beautiful some lovely restaurant nearby and perfect coffee shop within the campus. Staff are fantastic will help you as much as they can. The emotional support is also fantastic, the University of Suffolk really cares about the wellbeing of all students

The uni has great facilities as it's a fairly new build, meaning everything is very modern and up to date. For history students too it's great as we have the Suffolk archives on site and linked to the university.
It's fine, some of the site needs maintenance and more access to better student facilities like kettles or coffee facilities.
The halls of residence are awful. Unfortunately the university doesn't own it so they cant help but maybe in the future they can.

Lovely course tutors and enjoying my time so far. Work load can sometimes be stressful Nice views and food locations around university
Good
Interesting course Supportive staff Online learning sucks, not a fan of block teaching Want more labs, but lab time is always interesting
The location, the facilities are great. If more work experience options were offered for this course it would be great
I love my course tutors they are superb. The admin side is so slow in responding.
It's a small uni where the teachers know your names and can interact with you.
The actual university is modern and well developed, the staff are helpful and kind. The accommodation and “student experience” aspects are extremely poor and let the uni down massively.

We get interesting modules, with a good balance of online and in class learning as we come out of the pandemic. The teachers are always on hand to ask if we need help, plus we have Personal Academic Coaches who we can go to for any issues. It would be better if the wellbeing facilities were better organised. Although I have not needed to use them myself, I have heard from others that there is a long waiting list to get mental health support, although this is somewhat moderated by the support we get from our Personal Academic Coaches.
I think the course content is really interesting and engaging and the lecturers always seem really enthusiastic. I wish we had more lesson time though. Since the pandemic started, we have been timetabled fewer hours. Although I expected hours to reduce slightly, I have half the number of hours per week compared to my first two years.
There are quite a few shops and places to eat, although the town is going downhill, with more shops closing. Plus, it feels unsafe at night.
