The support for those with needs is really good. I can't fault the support I get.
Pros + Very helpful staff and teachers involved in the BA history + Students are remarkably responsive to problems + The hold ( local archive ) is open to us and is a very useful resource Cons - Block learning has been implimented in the school , and no one who actually work on or with block likes it or thinks it’s a good idea, but the Brass said we doing block learning, so we are now doing block learning
Small groups in lectures mean you get good access to lecturers, they can be emailed outside of class and reply very quickly. Student activities aren't great as it's such a small uni, there's almost no sport
In a good location, helps me de-stress. Staff are really friendly and always try to help when possible. An improvement would be to make it a easier for explaining what kind of evidence is needed to get extensions if asking for one so it isn't difficult students to understand what they will need to show for evidence. Also, I would try to avoid 2 modules having deadlines being on the same day at relatively the same time and make the deadline be within 1 or 2 days within each other at the least.

Lecturers who are interested in their topics and interested in your views and you as an individual.
My best aspect is the support students get from the librarians ,personal academic coaches colleagues . Actually, I don't think I have had any bad moments at University of Suffolk

The best part about the uni is how easy it is to get in contact with any staff members when you need help, the vast majority of the staff go above and beyond to help you. The worst part of the uni is the student life - there isn't any. There is no student bar and the SU rarely organise any events that are worth doing. Freshers is full of things like going on walks and pottery painting which do not appeal to a very large amount of students.

Student support could be improved. It has got worse since Covid. Lecturer support could be better and you feel quite distant from lecturer support. Student union are very helpful and more supportive. A lot of good staff leave even within student support. Sport activities could be better. More information on if a course is right for you could be helpful before you commit to a course especially with a specific learning disability or if lecturers could be better educated on disabilities.

This is a small university so there are more mature students than students coming from far. The nightlife is not great and freshers can really be improved on however the development in teaching facilities has been absolutely amazing and I love that I can access study spaces 24/7.

The uni is close to home, making the commute less time consuming, the parking is reasonable for an all day pass, however there is need for more spaces to be available. The uni itself, is aesthetically pleasing. Close by coffee shops and food outlets are a bonus at lunchtimes. I have enjoyed studying at this uni and I am looking forward to completing another course there.
The Uni itself is nice and its location is really great. However, that’s everything I can say about it; there are no more positives.

The best aspects of my university experience are the teaching, the lecturers from the English department in particular, are really involved and exhilarating to listen to. The university itself, has a wide range of books in the library, a good Student Union base and is quite new so up to date with the world of online learning (lots of plug sockets and owls for video calls). I would like to see the university use its rooms more. It is now not necessary to be online learning all the time, so I feel like they could move with the guidance and let have more time on campus. I would also like there to be a few more bars or clubs closer to the campus or halls, as the closest one is on the other side of town and dangerous to walk through at night. This would provide the students with more safety as they know they are not far from home/uni. The final thing I would like improved is the accessibility to things, such as research on mental/physical health from the support team and future careers advice.

Nothing bad to say about it, I knew from the moment I had my applicant interview that this university was for me.
The best part of studying is one of my lecturers who gives me the drive to improve on my work and I love their knowledge! I am so passionate about learning, and so far this course has been brilliant. I don't always struggle with the knowledge, especially on learning about play, safeguarding and DPP, however the academic side is challenging! I feel the downside to this course is time management. Being a director and not being able to have my full days of doing the work due to staff sickness/holidays or absence , has been somewhat difficult. I have had to catch up on evenings, which for me is not ideal.

We have great facilities and partnerships with companies such as BT which bring a lot of opportunities for students. A smaller univeristy and the lecturers have time for each and every one of us. The location is stunning. Not all the lecturers I have encountered were good educators. They all knew what they were talking about and had impressive backgrounds but the way they were teaching wasn't the best. Luckly things have improved in the last year

I believe my experience at the University of Suffolk so far has overall been really enjoyable so far. The area in which the university is based is great and there are many interesting things to do along the waterfront, however the Ipswich town itself feels unsafe, dangerous and in general isn't the nicest area. I think it is also really good that there is accommodation so close to the campus, it is accessible and easy to get to, and it means you don't have to wake up too early to commute! The building and facilities itself are amazing and feel very clean and modern, I really appreciate all of the features we as students have access to, such as computers, printers and a library. I also feel that the staff seem really helpful and I feel there is support from people in all different areas for things like mental health, bursary's etc. I also am really pleased we have such a fantastic student union. I really enjoyed the freshers weeks they delivered and was interested in the wide range of activities. I also like how they have created some bigger events and things to look forward to, for example the Summer Ball, which I am so grateful for as I know not all university's get to hold such cool events. Overall, the University of Suffolk is great place to study and also socialise. Everyone here is so lovely and have a brilliant energy. I would definitely recommend to others who are looking at where they would like to go!
I absolutely love my course, the teachers are all incredible and I feel like I am learning so much. The content is all relevant to the course and it is all really helpful. However, something I would like more of is a guide on what to do when we graduated. There are so many options, but if the tutors could speak to us individually about what we would like to do, it might give us more of an insight into what careers we could potentially have. I also feel that we don't have much 'practical contact time'. As my course is dance, I would have expected there to be more physical dance classes, rather than just all theory. If there were to be more practical lessons, I would definitely be happier. The other thing is the last minute time table changes. Especially for us with jobs, these changes can be very stressful and make it hard to commit. What would also make it easier, would be if the timetable were to be out sooner, so we could schedule more things in. I would also appreciate if we didn't have as many workshops close to our assessments, as we need this time to work. Overall, I am really pleased with my course and I am enjoying it so far.
