I am really enjoying university life I love being a student. Lectures should be more interesting for students. Study effectively for all moduels. Its been a fun and a hard time but its efo been worth it for my career path
The best thing to do is to look in depth and take the extra time to find the right course and the right uni for you. Spend weeks if you have to after all university will cost you time and money, You will be here for 2 years if you are on a HND, 3 if your on a regular degree or 4 if you are on sandwich and then of course masters, PHD and so on.
Cash in on the holidays you will defiantly need the money! Uni is so so expensive in day to day life it has been a big pressure on my experience those beers, take a ways and nights out quickly escalate to a big expense! that is my advice! Accommodation was not too bad first year is a convenience to move into dorms and a great social experience since everyone lives in the same block so you get to know people on your floor and the ones above and below! You can move out obliviously for the second and third year which will save you money and have more space in most cases.
The course is good but could be better. If you look at most IT jobs they also want Cisco networking and Microsoft certification. It would be great to obtain these as part of the course rather than hoping an employer pays for the training on top! Since it is forensics I would also like to see the ethical hacking models on there too after all the whole point of forensics is to find out the facts and truths. it is for these reasons I have gave in a 3/5. University is good I have enjoyed my time here met lots of new people specially in the first year.
Yes I am really enjoying my university experience. Meeting new people enjoying the uni life with exams and assignments. And going out at night and coming in late every morning and getting up for class its so fun
BCU is fantastic. I realy enjoy my time here your best bet is to look into your course with detail and what it can go onto. do not just pick one with a cool name! I have lots of access to content and all the software I need on the computers in the labs. They have some open rooms too which are not as busy as the library or other area's These are dotted around with time tables on the doors so you do not accidentally walk in on a lecture. City is great lots of bars around the bull ring has everything you need. Oasis market is pretty cool too it is a developing city so lots of up dating specially this side of town.
I am enjoying uni at the minute, however we need to be motivated more and more resources should be available. But otherwise I think it’s a great enviroment and I loved all the time ive had here and I hope it takes me far in life!
First of all, know which course you are applying for because most students have no clue and later drop out. University life is enjoyable. There is a lot going on. you can involve yourself in activities with the student union and gain valuable experience. There is always help available for students university requires hard work but it pays off in the future. it is worth the extra effort.
Excellent university. There is so much to do and see here, not to mention the people you end up meeting! Student parties are the best so my advice would be to save up for those beer tokens!
Make use of computers and software available always ask for help they are very helpful here! Never miss a lecture if you do the math your tutor contact time cost almost £200 an hour to be here so value every minute!
The university is brilliant I do wish I had more time with the teachers and more time to do the exercises in class. There is a lack of computers so sometimes it is annoying trying to study and other students ask "you finishing soon?" Lectures are very understanding and there is some industry standard criteria within the course which will prepare me for the outside world. Clubs, Societies and the SU are wonderful good support and a good way to meet new people and get involved. University is a place of learning but it is also a great opportunity to meet a huge range of people. Different types and from different area's. I find myself going on road trips with friends from other cities from time to time which has opened my eyes to a world of experiences!
it is too late when you are already here! On paper the course is appealing but when you look at the job requirements for applications it wont be the experience that holds me back it will be the actual degree. Could I say this is a glorified A level and a 3 year waste of my time. Have a look at the course description verses what you need for actual jobs. "forensic computing" sounds good but what you get is far from what you want! there is lack of facilities and club activities that I am interested in. Choose a different uni one which includes Cisco, Microsoft, apple and android modules and qualifications the days of only Microsoft operating systems are by far gone you need a good all round knowledge of plat forms and this course lacks that by far!
The university is enjoyable there are lots of clubs and societies to get involved in. It is a great university and a life changing experience. Fine art is a great degree and I am learning a lot. My advice would be to choose wisely spend time looking into university and just because your friends choose one university doesn't mean you have to follow them. Everyone is in the same boat when they get here nobody knows anyone so in return people are more open to meeting new people.
Uni is a great experience as you meet a lot of new people and become more independent. It is a big step up from college so be ready for a challenge.
Good university and i am having a good time! My course is interesting and the university has the facilities for this course everything I need is here when in the class room. Out side the class room though there is a lack in computers so bring your own laptop! My advice back up your work daily! If you cant afford an external hard drive then a more convenient way would be to use drop box. Get your class mates in on it and then you get free extra space for recommending them. This way you can access your work anywhere!
The student union is fantastic ive had so much great support from them. There is a great mixture of support from other students and the academics. Ive loved how much support from everyone you get and I feel like uni has done me good
The new campus is pretty good. open plan area's a big maze and lots of small rooms. does not seem to operate to maximum potential. Although some area's of the uni are busy others seem to be a bit of a ghost town which brings me onto facilities. For a "major" university does not seem a whole lot going on. The computers in the library are always occupied and unrestricted so there is always people with youtube, facebook and all the rest open on while "working" Since it is not heaving with people I wonder when it does get busy a bad situation will get worse unless they splashed out on more computers and filled those smaller deserted rooms,
Birmingham is good But the university is Better! I have loved my experience here and meet so many new people. IT is better than what I expected. My course is amazing and the lectures are inspiring. My only advice would be to choose this university.
My experience so far has been amazing. The Birmingham City university has lived up to my expectations and fine art has been enjoyable and fun. My advice would be to spend your time wisely here.
