I'm having a very good time at Birmingham city University. My favourite thing about the course is my lecturers. I like Birmingham city there is always good shopping here.
I attended Birmingham City University to study a part time under graduate degree during 2009-2014. I found the new facilities in Millennium point to be impeccable. The lecturers and their teachings have given me a good commercial awareness in my field and I have managed to secure employment immediately following my degree.
It a great uni. The cources are amazing. With the campuses being around the city it is easy to comute to from where i live. Also the campus is easy to negosate and find rooms
Absolutely perfect choice for the photographer, Great opportunities and amazing facilities, Staff are very friendly and welcoming and always interested in new idea's.
Great course with a good combination of practical and theory elements. Great placement opportunities and tutors with industry experience. Lots of industry links and opportunities to work on real-life projects.
Overall, BCU is a good university which provides quality education to build a students future. BCU looks to develop a student not just with education but also with real life experiences, sports and other volunteering opportunities, I feel proud to be studying at such a good university.
As a second year Marketing, Advertising and PR EU student I can sum up my whole experience at BCU only by saying that I wouldn't choose another one over it if I was to chose again. As I am a very curious person, I've taken every opportunity of getting involved with different projects within the university, and I can say that I really had the chance to see everything that it has to offer : from great ERASMUS partnerships - I went to Copenhagen Business School, but there were also others - to great international travel scholarships to countries like Nepal or Morocco, employability enhancing projects and competitions. I would recommend it to every student that wants to gain a modern, hands-on knowledge and experience, and I would highly advise to take part in the additional projects and services that Birmingham City University has to offer. They're really great!
I was not intending to study at Birmingham city university, however was the best decision I have made so far. The staff are very helpful especially the student representatives. I enjoy coming to the university as it's has a very friendly atmosphere. Recently I was struggling with a assignment and the university has a department to help you with essay writing, referencing and just general grammar and spelling checks.
Wonderful place to study, amazing staff in all areas, always willing to go the extra mile. From coffee shop/canteen staff to lecturers and associate lecturers. Although the city north campus isn't exactly easy on the eye, the safe, respectful and community atmosphere makes it a pleasure to be there.
BCU is a fantastic all round university- the course standard is amazing, and for me the other important aspect of uni is the experiences you gain, and this is where BCU excels! From helping you set up your own society, to amazing events, fairs and talks, to trips and fantastic pastoral support from the SU and staff members. Everyone at this uni is supportive and I feel like I can really flourish while I am here.
My experience at Birmingham City University has been incredible, from moving to a new city - moving away from home for the first time and to dealing with an intense personal journal regarding my health, the support I've received along the way has been life-changing! (Cheesy but true!) Everyone I've been taught by has been fantastic, and I've worked in multiple departments within the University. A superb campus (especially the new Parkside buildings) with being offered incredible opportunities to work at global media companies, national companies and the chance to work with industry experts. I graduated with First Class Honours in September - something that seemed very out of reach when I was struggling with personal issues last year, the staff pushed me along, supported me and the facilities kept me going! Thanks BCU!
The university is a friendly and fun place to be. It's full of great opportunities and you can take time off and go in and use other facilities and make the most of the university building. The best thing is all the industry contacts and placement opportunities they push you to get. The only downside is the student union, but I am not really fussed with that aspect, because education is on point.
I am impressed with the facilities and all the support I get in utilising them. I am also pleased about the ample guidance I receive from my the tutors in relation to my course through lectures and for my future aspirations. I like the visiting professionals and all the advice they give us for progression. The One to one tutorials with our tutors help us to towards the right direction and to be clear in our goals.
I am so happy that i chose this university to study my desired course. Birmingham City University has amazing facilities for every student to use. From the new media TV studios to the computer suites that are available. Furthermore, the teaching and support available to each student is top class. Lectures are well structured and provide rich and useful information to allow students to progress and develop. As well as this, the University provides excellent Job prospects which are available once the course has finished. Being in the middle of Birmingham City is also a huge plus as this allows easy access to the second largest City in the UK with a huge amount of activities and shopping locations to go to.
Birmingham City is a great university, but more specifically the business school where I study Marketing. I think what makes the quality of teaching so good is that all the lecturers have background experience of the industry. There are always extra activities the university offers to students in order to develop their skills and experience. Emphasising on employability, BCU ensures all students are ready to get a job in the industry. I'm thoroughly enjoying my second year and so glad I chose BCU to study at.
I would highly recommend the university to students. The university offers a great range of modules in many discplines. Within each programme, students have the abilitiy to select different modules which will allow the student to get a better understanding of the course. The university offers a great range of societies and trips to get involved in. The student union offers alot of support in many area, along with tutors throughout the university. The university annually holds two employment weeks which enhance and improve your employbility skills. The city life itself is great, student life and night life overall is amazing! You will never run out of things to do during your years there.
I currently attend the millennium point campus in Birmingham city centre. with excellent surroundings and a stunning building you would think they would have computer space and software to match. Not enough computers sometimes leaves you struggling to find space to work. The food tastes like rubber and u have to cut your own arm off to be able to afford it. other than that excellent university.
I am a Media and Communication student on Birmingham City university, and I am really amazed by the excellent environment that they offer in order to improve our studies and student experience. The professors are really experienced and give us the confidence that we expect from a university.
This is a really good modern university. The Business School in particular has loads of different course options and module options for third year students. The first year for all joint honors business courses is common meaning in your second year you have the option to change to another joint honors business course if you liked certain modules more than others. The first year accommodation is really good in my opinion and i would advise all first years to live in halls. The facilities the university have to offer are fairly good, you've got computer rooms, library's good lecture halls etc. The student support is good however be prepared to work independently most of the time. There are clubs and societies, however being a new university there are not as many as most other very well established universities. The students union is good, however not great and could do with more time spent on it. Job prospects after studying at this university really depend on what course you are studying and how well you do. I believe the Business School is very well run with a lot of thought put into its different strategic decisions. If you put in the work you have the potential to come out of this university with a lot of knowledge and transferable skills when entering the world of work. The City of Birmingham itself is amazing with so much to offer to all types of people from all walks of life. Whether its sports or the arts, music, shopping, culture, nights out and so much more, then Birmingham is the City for you. With good transport links to all over the country Birmingham is not to far away from home for any UK students. The city has many different parts to discover all offering something. The city center itself offering the modern urban experience, the jewelry quarter offering an older urban experience, city north and its great cultural vibe, city south and its beautiful scenery and idyllic lifestyle and so much more. Being the second largest city in the UK, Birmingham will not fail to disappoint!

It's been a satisfactory experience. I expected a bit more. The study areas and laptops could be improved. There is no Halal food in the canteen.
