The staff are great at what they do always willing to help. The library team are amazing
Pros - Great campus, amazing food options (subway, blends, union shop, cafeteria) - Great lab facilities, especially the super lab - Lovely and helpful lecturers Cons - May require two buses to reach if travelling from outside of Derby, can be pricey since the U1 bus is no longer free - Careers office in atrium is not very helpful in the times I've been there, often we're just directed to the website rather than receiving meaningful advice.
University has good support for wellbeing, study, uni life and helps you fit in well
The chairs in A3 are rubbish please can you buy more because half of them are on a slant and destry your back. Also it would be great to get some more modern and up to date equipment such as a ma3 or a digico desk so we can learn equipment that is actually being used in the industry, or can we get trained on these things.
The fact that Derby has put over £70 Million into the Accounting building shows it cares for the students, I am happy in that regard. However, there are many other smaller issues which I personally don’t like, for example, there is no free parking nearby or on campus, which makes it extremely annoying for people who commute (me) to get to the university as I may have to park further away.
The university is a good place to study because it provides a supportive learning environment where students can develop their knowledge and skills. The lecturers are helpful and encourage students to ask questions and participate in discussions, which makes the learning experience more engaging. In addition, the university offers good facilities such as libraries, study spaces, and access to useful academic resources. These help students stay focused and organized with their studies. The university community is also welcoming, allowing students to meet new people, share ideas, and learn from different perspectives. Overall, the combination of supportive teachers, good facilities, and a positive academic environment makes the university a good place for students to learn and grow.
The worst aspect of my uni experience is that I got lost and couldn’t find my classroom where I had my class in and got lost. The best aspect of my uni experience is when I did the little event that was held and had fun
Amazing uni, friendly and kind staff, make it clear that you can approach with any queries, great location and building, easily accessible, great facilities available to all, no improvement notes that I can think of
The worst aspects is car park for students . It should be free car park provided for students by University. Students who does not live in Derby and have to drive from other cities. Good aspect is that university has really good and lovely teachers.
The university atmosphere and staff library, reception and the tutor are the excellent resources available to students, fostering an environment where academic growth and personal development can thrive. With dedicated mentors and innovative programs, learners are supported every step of the way. Although, making friends is quite difficult for me, it could be because my asian appearance, the students tends to just make all black groups and also white in the different groups. This separation can be challenging, but I am determined to find my place and connect with others who share similar interests and values. Engaging in campus activities and reaching out to diverse organizations may help bridge these gaps and foster meaningful relationships. I do not expect to be friends outside university , but I hope to create a supportive network within this environment. By actively participating and being open to new experiences, I believe I can cultivate friendships that enrich my university life.

I love the student union, the events they do. The fairs, and the stalls are so fun and interesting. I love DOTS (Derby Occupational Therapy Society) its such a lovely and fun group to join. It is run by some lovely people who are in my cohort. (I believe its the best society at the university). The blends coffee shop, is my favourite place to sit and chill out or study with a coffee and a snack.
more car parking could be better for uni student who drive. better time tables for example coming in for 2 hours.
More staff in the facilities to make wait times quicker More interesting extracurricular activities (outside of societies/communities)
The course and the lecturers are amazing, and the university has been great. The uni bus used to be free so it would be very helpful if that could be brought back
Derby campus is right next to markeaton park and my course takes trips there every so often to see how we could use it in out study. The campus has a large library and plenty of options for food and drink. Student accommodations are fairly priced and even cheaper in your second year. The only improvement I can think of is that the on site shop (Keddie's) could stock more grocery items for convenience.
Well I do really like keddleston campus, and I was originally here to study forensic science but I then changed course to something quite different, Mechanical engineering, and so I stopped having lectures on that campus and started haiving them on Britannia mill and Markeaton street, and those buildings are nowhere near the same quality and they are quite far from keddleston aswell, they feel very secluded from the actual uni to the point where it doesn't even feel like I'm going to a university, some lecturers have experienced some persistent technical issues as well so overall I'm a bit disappointed. Also most of the society events seem to run on the same days and at the same time so you can basically only join one society at the time which is a bit lame and I ended up just not going to them.

wow
Firstly University of Derby has a great partnership with top organisation where they organised enrichment weeks for the departmental student respectively, through which student gets a vision to do better than before. Also the quality of education is practical not a boring theory base with a respected experienced professor and lectures share the knowledge from their good shelves proud to be student of university of derby.

The uni staff always have different answer on the same things, which bother me a lot.
the first 6 months of the course the teacher was great, the last 6 months the teachers are not good.
