Student support is always excellent! The university and the schools pay great attention to student's mental health and general well being!
Best aspect- diversity Worst aspect- location
It is nourished by a diverse, intellectual team of academics who are researchers and are enthusiastic to provide insight into your studies. I have found that they should accept cash on campus.
Student support is really good in terms of the advice and counselling service and the library service. Lots of extra curricular activites to take part in - both socially and academically. Teachers generally try to listen to your concerns, if there is someone who doesn't, someone eventually takes your concerns seriously. Location feels unsafe, especially during the night and campus is kind of ugly.
What makes it great is that you can always ask ur advisor about any questions you have and the library is rlly beneficial for studying I think there are lack of paid work opportunities for students especially considering the cost of living so I would say to improve that a lot
It’s a great place because it has great study spots and a beautiful campus. The library is great and professors are brilliant. What can be improved is that student support can be better and more guidance should be provided.
I love it !! Feels like a school with all the buildings near each other and the library, prayer rooms, QM social and more ! I just wish there were more food and drink places nearby like a blank street or vapianos lol
The facilities and support services are outstanding at Queen Mary, and the study/social spaces on campus are amazing. All of my lecturers have also been great; Staff are super approachable and helpful. There are lots of events on throughout the year but I think there could be more of a focus on friend-making events all the way throughout too, rather than just at the start.
I love that it's a campus uni - sometimes I forget that I live in a city because it's so quiet living in student accommodation, I love being away from the hustle and bustle because I find campus to be a really peaceful and safe space. The canal is an especially great feature. Sometimes it can be a little too quiet - as a first year, there is not a lot happening on campus and fun nights usually require going off campus. I have met so many people at this school that are really kind, cool, and come from all over the world which is really cool. I also love my course, Liberal Arts. However, especially for my course, the department is pretty underfunded, and the timetables are ALWAYS messed up. I personally love this school and think the opportunities are endless when you live in London.
One of the best aspects of my university experience has been the sense of purpose and community. Studying dentistry is challenging, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. I love that what I’m learning feels meaningful and directly connected to helping people in the future. The clinical exposure and practical sessions make everything feel real, and even though it can be intense, it pushes me to grow both academically and personally. I’ve also met some really supportive friends — when the workload gets overwhelming, having people who understand exactly what you’re going through makes a huge difference. Another great thing is the structure of the course. It’s well-organised overall, and most lecturers are genuinely passionate about what they teach. When teaching is interactive and clinically relevant, it makes even the hardest topics easier to engage with. That said, one of the more challenging aspects has been the workload and time pressure. Balancing lectures, lab work, revision, and personal life can sometimes feel overwhelming. There are moments when clearer communication about deadlines or slightly better spacing of assessments would reduce unnecessary stress. More structured academic support sessions closer to exams would also really help. Overall, it’s a great place to study because it challenges you, prepares you properly for your career, and surrounds you with driven, like-minded people. With a bit more flexibility around scheduling and improved communication during busy periods, the experience could be even better.
Best part: good community, lots of friends. Worst part: not a nice area in London + a graveyard in the middle of campus
Barts has a great building for their facilities, and the student organizations are incredibly lively and dedicated, making for a good student experience, especially for an international student like myself. It is disappointing how small the Garrod building is, but I know that there are plans to build an additional facility across the street at the Whitechapel campus in the coming years, which will significantly improve the student experience. While the upgraded Garrod building is nice, the student union and cafe (The Griff) is incredibly disappointing- it must be one of the smallest and least well-built uni bar for any medical school in the city, which is very unexpected and incredibly disappointing- it incentivises students to leave more often- seeing other university unions/bars was very humbling and disappointing compared to the Griff.
The community. Everyone is very inclusive and friendly. It's a very diverse university. I've been able to connect with all sorts of different people and learn about each other. As for the worst part. It has got to be the tech stuff. A lot of the tech aspect feels outdated. The library website specifically sometimes acts out and we can't access the book or article we need
The best part is the location and student support provided, as an international it wasn't hard to me to adjust in a new culture because of support provided from financial to moral plus unis cross culture community instantly helped me find a home away from home. I think more focus on campus beautification and cleanliness would make qmul the ideal choice for every student considering universities to apply for
The uni as a whole is great with great services, but the location doesn’t feel right.
The students are very down to earth. Great location, lots of libraries, museums, events, clubs are close by for nights out. Lots of connections with other London based unis through socials and societies. Great selection of modules. Seminars could be structured better and made to be more engaging.
The best part about my experience at uni is the opportunities that they provide there are constant opportunities for our further such as job opportunities and internships. The worst part, well there isn’t anything which is bad. The only thing is sometimes the timetable schedules can be a bit frustrating however it is like that at any university and luckily can be changed.
My best experience were my business school modules, they're super interesting! My worst experience was in my first year doing accomodation due to a rat problem and messy flatmates.

It is a great place to study as there are many different people that come from different backgrounds and the student support in QMUL is very helpful. It could be improved if opportunities regarding internships are presented to us, where we are encouraged to apply for them.
Lecturers could be improved as they sometimes skip over main topics and rush through them as we get 2 hours for a lecture
