I love the student life and the city itself. The library spaces are lovely and the societies are great for making friends. Biggest downsides for me have been the cost of accommodation
Bristol is both a beautiful university and city, with great historical and modern buildings. I especially enjoy having seminars in Wills memorial building. There are numerous libraries and study spaces, with cafes and social spaces. I personally enjoy going to dance classes with dance society and have recently joined yoga society. I feel that the range of societies means there's something for everyone! The Student Union could improve by making people more aware of the events it is holding, as often people just dont realise something is happening. Sometimes tutors are not very clear when explaining how topics relate to each other or what the exam requirements are. A lot of my peers feel there could be more support with applications for schemes and general career advice.

If you study at Bristol Uni you'll realise that there are so many different opportunities available to you as a student. These are flagged in weekly emails which works really well. However, strikes have affected study time and I believe that students should be reimbursed for this.
Best aspects - the city is brilliant, the student life is great, and there is a lot going on. Worst aspects - the workload, but this is to be expected at a Russel Group university
Best - good facilities. Worst - getting to university is tough because of the location of the university and the lack of university provided transportation in the morning, which is especially strange considering most classes start in the morning.

The area is super vibrant and the night life is great. The course is generally interesting, however one thing I would change is the communication with personal and subject tutors. Whilst some are extremely good at communicating with students, personal tutor meetings only ever occur a handful of times a year. It would be great if there was greater contact especially with personal tutors as this would help students feel more comfortable discussing their issues with general uni life and their mental health. Though, there is always something going on with the student union, and the amount of clubs and societies there are is really impressive. There is always something for everyone from transcendental meditation to crochet and knitting, to fintech and debating.
The best aspect about the University is the languages department. The staff are welcoming and encourage a collaborative and collegiate atmosphere. The facilities are also modern and fulfil the needs of students.
There are hardly any spaces to eat your own food. There is a tiny canteen which is always full but they kick you out if you bring your own food. The Arts SS library is really comfortable to work in and it is great that it is open 24 hours.
Best experiences are definitely the way my course is run. All teaching staff are very supportive in the School of Biochemistry. I haven't had any bad experiences, but what I would say could be improved is library space. Around exam time it is very hard to get a seat if you don't arrive at 9am.

Bristol itself is an amazing city with lots to do and never a boring day. There is always something to do or somewhere to go out. Rent can be expensive unfortunately. The campus is located centrally and in a good part of town. There is lots of easily accessible green space from most of the student halls, and indeed anywhere in the city. I highly recommend joining some societies as from what I can tell we have some of the most diverse range of societies out of any university I have seen - there really is something for everyone and the regular "give it a go" sessions allow anyone to get involved in a new hobby and meet lots of new people.
Good range of opportunities and services, for example the students health service is very well organised and the staff are excellent. The Russian department in particular is extremely dedicated to language learning - seminars and external opportunities are provided with care and attention. However occasionally the campus can be hard to navigate I believe some of the funding is misplaced for example the decor in the students union although very nice seems extravagant.
The quality of teaching and the campus is generally okay. Most lecturers are helpful, although this can really vary. Student support is notoriously mediocre. As you would expect, the student experience in Bristol can be excellent, but a sense of community within the university is almost completely absent.
Great atmosphere
great study spaces, and really good SU. lots of online learning, which makes it flexible, and means you can work uni around your hobbies, jobs etc some buildings are named after slave owners. also some buildings are quite dated
I love the city. The uni could do more to support its students particularly during the cost of living crisis
Good facilities however location of buildings are quite spread out
Pretty old buildings, in the center, good city. Bus routes could be better, university as a whole is a lonely experience.

There are a lot of study centres which is good for students and I especially like Beacon house and Wills memorial library. Beacon house is quite modern and cozy while Wills memorial library is a kind of traditional, architectural style of building, and I consider it has a romantic atmosphere. In addition, I frequently visit Global lounge where provides free tea, coffee and snacks with comfortable music. There are also lot of student support in this uni. I can make a reservation with tutors to get some help with my study and essay. Plus, there are also many extra free classes like academic writing and reading. I always can feel energetic vibe through various activities and events in the uni.

Crazy high living cost and housing. TBH if you are like me who don’t give a shit to the ”nightlife” whatsoever it doesn’t really worth 200+pw. Also the work opportunities are not good. if you study computer science you probably are going to leave your room empty over the summer. so far the internship offer I received are located somewhere else( one from middle-size company, one from IB and one from one of FAANG) The uni doesn’t give a shit to student by the way. We have to pay full tuition for online teaching while other universities give 20% off. The tuition are rising drastically while staff don’t get enough money.
The optional modules you can choose in Year 3 are limited compare to other universities. Especially you aren’t going to do AI related stuff but Software system. The course itself is sort of theory oriented. My friends study in the US do his algorithm and data structure module by writing code while we do it by writing proof. Make sense though since it is a BSc course but be aware of this so you don’t go like “I didn’t sign up for this’
