Easy to contact lectures, but the days can be very intense with lots of lectures. Could be improved by spreading the timetable more evenly throughout the week.
It is in a nice location, visually, as there are many outdoor spaces to explore, and it isn't too busy. The library facilities are open throughout the week, and the hours are reasonable, which allows for flexibility with independent study. The student union could be improved as it is rather small and cramped.
The faculty and facilities both are top notch for my course! In fact, the uni has one of the biggest recording facilities in Europe. There are loads of support options available, ranging from academic in the form of personal tutorials, a huge library, mitigation services etc. to wellbeing in terms of counselling, career help, fitness centre etc. The campuses are all clean, modern and genuinely beautiful, especially Kingston Hill with its huge fields, and Penrhyn Road Townhouse for its incredible architecture. I do feel that some aspects of the university can be improved, for example, the library should be open 24/7 so that students who work also have a fair amount of time to access these resources. Another improvement could be subsidising the cost of some essentials on campus, such as the food from vending machines/student bar/eat central which is considerably more expensive than what you'd pay for the same off campus.

The buildings and classes are well maintained and spacious making the environment during lessons comfortable and breathable. The teachers are always interactive and eager to help and answer question relating to the course or even if it is not related to the course. The societies and sports clubs are very fun as well, flourishing my social life. The only downside is the 3-hour lectures, as it is too long. I would prefer to have more days I come into university with 2-hour lectures than less days in university with 3-hour lectures.
The campus looks much better after recent changes, though it wasn’t great before
The new facilities that they provide for example the new powerful linux computers with latest processors which allows to run multiple VM’s simultaneously without slowing down allowing work to be done more efficiently. They have a new reception with a modern look and upstairs there are comfortable seats. The only thing i don’t like is political posters and protesters especially communism, ANTIFA, etc because i don’t agree with their views.
my best experience in uni is how it feels like everyone is heard and given full support towards. it could be improved by adding more facilities.
Best Aspects 1. Good facilities & resources Kingston has invested in strong lab facilities: modern biology & chemistry labs, specialist equipment like electron microscopes, spectrometers, etc. Also computing labs and good technical/IT support. 2. Balance of theory + practical work The course mixes lectures with lab/field-based projects, data work, systematic reviews. This gives hands-on experience, which is very useful for skills and employability. 3. Location Kingston upon Thames is quite nice: it’s reasonably close to central London (so you get access to all the opportunities, culture, jobs etc.) but is more peaceful and safer than many parts of London. 4. Student satisfaction in many areas • According to NSS (National Student Survey) and DiscoverUni, high percentages of students are positive about learning opportunities. • Also good satisfaction with learning resources and facilities. 5. Support from academic staff Many students comment that lecturers/tutors are approachable, helpful. The academic support rating is quite strong in recent years. 6. Modern & improving infrastructure New buildings, decent student amenities (cafés, gyms, etc), improvements ongoing.  Challenging Aspects 1. Organisation, communication & changes can be inconsistent Some students find that timetables, deadlines, workshops etc. are changed at short notice. It can be stressful planning around labs/projects when things move. There’s feedback in reviews saying communication is not always great. 2. Assessment & feedback delays / quality variability While many are happy, some students feel feedback is slow, or not always detailed/clear. Sometimes assessments might feel like they don’t match up with what was taught. 3. Support services / mental wellbeing communication The data shows that while many are satisfied, less than half believe that information about mental wellbeing support services is well communicated. So if you’re struggling (academically, personally), sometimes finding help/knowing how to approach services can be non-trivial. 4. Cost of living & student costs Being in / near London means higher costs (rent, commuting, food etc.). First-year can be hard when you have many expenses. This is typical but still a real strain for many. (While I didn’t find specific Kingston stats, this is a common theme in student feedback.) 5. Course workload can be intense and demanding Biological sciences has labs, tutorials, lectures, project work etc. Keeping up, especially with practicals, deadlines, data work, can feel overwhelming if you don’t organise early. Some students mention workload spikes. 6. Student feedback / voice not always felt Some students feel that when they provide feedback (about the course, about teaching, etc.), the response or visible changes are lacking. They feel their voice isn’t always heard or that things don’t change.
The best part of my university experience was the sense of growth and independence it brought. I loved being surrounded by people from different backgrounds, exchanging ideas, and learning to see the world from new perspectives. Late-night study sessions that turned into deep conversations, supportive professors who genuinely cared, and the satisfaction of mastering something I once found impossible all made it incredibly rewarding. I also enjoyed the freedom to explore subjects beyond my major, which helped me discover new interests and shape my goals. The hardest part was balancing everything — academics, social life, work, and self-care. At times, the pressure to perform well and uncertainty about the future felt overwhelming. I also struggled with imposter syndrome, especially in competitive environments. However, those challenges taught me resilience, time management, and the importance of asking for help. In the end, even the tough moments contributed to one of the most transformative periods of my life.
I think my university that I go to as had a massive improvement through these last two years and from that I think I like how university turn into and how the layout is and I don’t think the university I go to need anymore improvement in anything as the student support, facilities and 1 and 1 meeting has only been good which I loved and the most important reasons I chose the university was because of the location and facilities and how the student life, so I would say there’s not much needed to be fix as my 4 years either this university was amazing.
Kingston university offers the opportunity to meet many great people as it’s a university that is highly ranked across a wide spectrum of courses. For example I study Fashion BA and my two closest friends I made her study Psychology and Pharmaceuticals, the fact we were able to meet and be so close was due to the great accommodation options Kingston has to offer we lived together and therefore enjoyed university life together and 4 years later are still great friends!

The lecturers are very helpful.
The university area is very beautiful and residents are very welcoming and kind, the university has very nice facilities in place and staff and supportive and kind. There is a wide range of support for students. Organisation of the building signs could be better, it’s quite confusing to find certain buildings on Penrhyn road campus but asking for directions is no problem.
The societies and meeting people, and the resources and support. It could be improved by adding more lunch spots.
Kingston university has a great vibe! All of the tutors and members of staff are very friendly and supportive, even if you’re not on their specific course! I’ve found it easy to make friends, and the location has helped a lot with this! As being an art student, I’ve been able to frequently visit galleries in London by short train journey - whilst also being able to experience the serene and quiet nature surrounding Kingston and Richmond. I really love that art school and all of the different workshops there are - however the one improvement would be to have our own personal spaces on the course (somewhere we can leave our artwork/ a space to make our own)! It’s been a bit of a struggle have to haul all of my art projects from the uni to my apartment and back - especially during the winter months when it’s rainy and cold, and I know some many other students have found issues with this too. Other than that though, I think the uni is great!

So far, Kingston University has been the correct choice for me. As a student who didn't want to study in the Midlands or abroad, I looked into the best universities in London. Kingston University stood out with a BPS-accredited psychology course, amazing surrounding transport links, a sleek modern design, immersed student support and overall graduate high ranking. Kingston University offers endless support, whether that be with coursework or further career endeavours. One improvement would be to host more career fairs. Some students have no clue what they want to do with their degrees. They have no clue, the career fields they can go into. Hosting more career fairs that are appealing can help!
I absolutely love my course!. I knew what career I wanted to delve into, so my course is perfect. The coursework and reading can get difficult at times, but the support from my tutor has helped me to regulate and prioritise.
